I just bought some good wicks to continue testing with. So far they are for my own personal use, so that fact I don't know what the wick is doesn't pose a problem. But thanks for your input.
I love this wax so far. I use it for my tarts and votives, and they come out nice. Still need to zap the tops with a heat gun, but I like it. The votive were very smooth after the 2nd pour, so no heat gun action needed
Oh, and the wicks I ordered are CD 4, 5 and 6. And LX 10 and 12. Ordered some samples of each to see which I like.

The wax is 4794. And, I am testing to make sure they burn correctly, and I have the proper wick. To make sure they are safe and not junk. And also to make sure they smell good
And, they are burning very nicely. Going to play with wicks to see if I can make it better.

These are my very first votives Scented with Melon Berry from The Candle Source. Not sure of the wick type, they were bought way before I knew there were different kinds of wicks.
I am going to test burn later...wish me luck!!!

Just a few questions. I searched, but was still not able to get a specific answer. So here goes...
Is there an amount of time I should let them cure to check the hot throw? I just want to hear what those of you who make votives do.
And, should I wait to test the burn until they cured, or am I ok test burning once they are set up.
I think that is all my ???'s so far...and wish me luck, I'm a little nervous!!!
TIA for all your help

I had a request to make neon colored tarts. Is there such a thing as neon colored dye, and if so, where can I get it?? I looked online and nothing came up when I googled it.
TIA

I would also call them. 1-402-935-2050. Yes it is long distance, but worth it to actually speak with someone.
Paypal and I hve been around the block on a variety of things, and this is the best way. A lot of times the emails are templates, so like yours it means nothing to the situation at hand.
Good luck, because you are gonna need it.

Well, good luck with the dirty guy. Sounds like it might be more interesting than Miss High and Mighty...just make sure you share any good stories with us LOL

Currently, I use IGI 4794 for my tarts. Was wondering if anyone has tried the IGI 4641 (the former Honeywell V). I ask because it is in pellets, and I would love to not smash big slabs of wax on the ground. The neighbors already think I am crazy
TIA for your help!!

I use a pre blended votive wax. All the right chemicals are in it already, you just melt, add FO and pour.

I purchased some of their spray but I am still testing it. I also purchased two fragrances from them, babydoll and angel wings. I can barely smell the angel wings. that frangrance has got to be the weakest fragrance I have ever purchased anywhere. Babydoll was ok oob but still not very strong. I soaped with it and may as well left the soap unscented because it is barely noticible..I don't know perhaps it will become stronger as the soap ages. I have had some FO's do that. I tested babydoll in their body spray and that was ok, nothing to get excited about. I will be testing more fo's and eo's tomorrow. the alcohol smell is strong and I suspect I need some oils that are stronger than what i have to make this work and mine are pretty good.
You must be talking about a different company. http://thecandlesource.com/id1.html
This is their list of scents, and those 2 you mentioned are not sold by them. So, you must have gotten them somewhere else. So, did you also get the base somewhere else too??
-
I love their oils. They have quick turnaround time, and their shipping is actual, no additional fees. They have an ongoing sale, so their prices are real good. I don't think you will be disappointed

Get the digital one. It makes life a whole lot easier. Walmart sells one that is $30 and works nice.
-
Was just wondering if anyone has tried this and if you have any opinions on it:

TIA for your information

OK, that looks way too real...good thing I already had some ice cream, because I would have come over to your house

I really like logo5. I think the black script is nice, and it is easy to read.
Glad you got your big girl panties on, that should toughen you up

Yes, it is a metal bucket. Was something different to do than a regular basket. Thanks everyone, I'm glad you like it!!!

This is for a gift basket I made for a wedding gift. It has an assortment of tarts, There is a tart burner buried in there somewhere!!!

I have so far tried the Frankie and Meryl (that is the nickname for it) Coconut Lime Verbena, Honeysuckle and Magnolia and Pink Grapefruit. I hated the Frankie and Meryl, but the rest were great.

Those are so nice!!!

I like them!! I can't wait to get my clamshells. I hope mine turn out as nice as yours

I remember seeing a thread about using Saran Wrap as a packaging material for tarts and such. I searched and no luck in finding it, and the old board is not cooperating
Few questions:
Does it have to be real Saran Wrap, or can it be store brand?
Can you use a heat gun to get it to seal better?
TIA I appreciate all your help

This is what I was hoping to hear. Even though I know not to trust how it smells at first, I still do. I'm gonna make some this weekend, and I'll let you know. Thanks for the replies!!!

Anyone know if any of these are good, or is my nose on the fritz?

When you need to register for a business lic?

I know in my state, filing to be a business was recommended, but optional. I was able to get my sales tax license without filing as a business.
Check with your state online, and you are sure to find what you need. I was able to send an email with the questions I had, and I got an email back with links telling me where to go.
Good Luck!!!
