Anyone used both polyquat's 7 and 10? Help? Please?

From reading descriptions, they both SOUND like they do the same thing.. One is powder, one is liquid. Both soluable in water.

So, anyone want to talk quats??

I use 1/2 ice 1/2 water for my lye. Gets to be 95 degrees in less than 30 minutes.

I wouldn't worry about the hard water Linda. I also wouldn't put my lye water in the freezer. The fumes next to food I'm going to eat? The high temp of the lye water also isn't good to have in the freezer for your food. It might raise the temp in the freezer to unsafe levels.

How do you do it Carriegs? Am I thinking wrong?

I use the huge gladware containers for my butters.. They stack so well!

Rinse your cups out before you throw them away.

Find a way to lock it up if possible.

The 6x6 is way to big for most soap. I get the 4x6 and take about an inch of the end. HTH!

I don't get why people spend big bucks on molds girl.. I picked my packaging and what size i want my finished soap to be - and built molds around that. You can sweet talk the guys at the lumberyard to make all the cuts for you, and all you have to do is put it together.

From what I'm reading on the OK sales tax site, you tax your in state orders at your tax rate. Now, if you hand delivered, those would be taxed at the different county rates. Will keep looking to find something more definitive.

Some say no, it doesn't need it as the ph is too high for the bacerita, yeast, or fungus to grow. Some say yes, because sooo much water is introduced while it probably won't grow, it's still possible.

Me? I choose to preserve.

First, Optiphen might not work in cream soap. Cream soap normally has a ph of 10-11, and most preservatives, including optiphen isn't enough at that ph. You can use Suttocide A which is good up to a ph of 12. Straight up Optiphen isn't all inclusive as a preservative.
