  1. Yes.. you are looking for Paul. His screen name is Soapmaker Man.. you will LOVE these molds!! I just sent payment for my second one today. It is so darn easy to unmold your soap. The liners are super easy to clean. I also love the way the sides are hinged so you just drop the sides down and remove the slab. HTHTeri

  2. You are going to get one of these in person!! You won't be able to use it for a few weeks, but it is the least than I can do...I used the Sudsy Shea & Shortening recipe with no milk... and of course I forgot the salt and sugar... I have so many bars sitting here.. I do need to post some pics though.. I really need to share some of my snafu soaps!

  3. I wanted to get a better understanding about discounting water when making Castile. I wanted to make some tonight with 90% olive oil and 10% castor. I want to add fragrance, so I wanted to be sure that I can discount and still use fragrance oil? I was reading a thread with Eugenias recipe and it mentioned you could safely discount your water especially if you did not add fragrance oil. I would appreciate any input. I wanted to scent these with a little baby type fragrance. I appreciate any input.. Thanks!Teri

  4. Now does this smell like the shampoo and conditioner I buy at the salon?

Yep.. I put some of the fo on one hand and my conditioner on the other and the fo is VERY strong and dead on to the shampoo and conditioner. My mom put it on her skin and it smelled awesome with her chemistry. EmpressC ... yep.. I am going insane trying to get a decent lineup of fragrances that won't seize on me. I am in LOVE with soaping! If I could just master that darn swirling action!

  5. I am not sure if I am supposed to post this in the fragrance area or here. I received my sample of Natures Garden Biolage Matrix dupe. I soaped it with cool lye and oils. This scent is fabulous! Dead on dupe and super strong. I used 1 ounce per pound. I omitted any milks and used straight waters. I added silk only. I had TONS of time to swirl. I actually started to worry that it wasn't going to get to trace. I stick blended it more than normal. I was able to swirl it with no problem.. so I had zero accelertion and time will tell on the discoloration. I just had to share my nice soaping experience.

  6. Hehehe...yeah, that was my post on Peak's site! No A, No D.....and we are at 4 months now (I'd have to find my notes) and the scent is lovely. Comes alive in the water!

Angel.. thanks so much.. I made a knucklehead move and ordered a pound without knowing for sure. I did not think to read the reviews on the website. I was just looking at the description... THanks so much.. now I can't wait to soap it!Teri

  7. I think I will wait for a few more responses and then I will go ahead and post it in the swap section. This will be a lot of fun and is intended to be fun and insightful to all of us that are starting out in this fabulous arena! I can't thank folks like Eugenia, Meridith, Crafty1AJ, Maryann, Brenda, Grumpygirl, Carebear, and many many others for selling and giving me soap to sample. I am on my way and learning up a storm.. I hope to make a product a fraction as great as those that I have sampled! I feel kind of guilty about the poor people that I got hooked on my Melt and Pour with additives.. I can hear my m&p blocks wimpering in the corner.. .. Thanks!Teri

  8. Okay.. I take off to go camping and you see what happens! I am sorry.. let me clarify what I meant about divulging your recipe. I meant percentages ... ect.. I am more than willing to give up the whole recipe. I know that some folks are uncomfortable giving up the recipe. I personally feel that it would be better to see the entire recipe so we can see what makes it different than ours. Just my opinion. Top... I would personally love to keep something like this to around 5 or 6 people. This would be plenty of soap to test out. So, I would love to handle this if you all think this would be acceptable.. sorry GrandmaArial.. did not mean to scare you. I have enjoyed reading your posts about your soaping ventures because we seem to be in the same boat. I am happy to take this min-swap on. I will anxiously await feedback from a few to proceed. There is no rush.. I was thinking to have everything submitted by the end of September and shipped to oneanother by Octoberish.. or whatever you all would like. THanks for the interest!Teri

  9. Funny you should post this. Today I went to Lowe's and bought a 24" X 48" sheet of acrylic. It is my DH task to figure out how to make the mold. He made some great wood molds for me in January, but I'm tired of lining them. I tried the "foam" sheets and even tried lining one of my molds with silicone, but I'm not pleased. He won't have time to make them this week, so hopefully, next week (or more likely the week after) I'll have a mold to test and report on.

I just wanted to add that I chose acrylic since I could not find HDPE locally and did not want the extra expense of freight charges just to try something that may not work. The Plexiglas was cheaper (1/2 the price of the acrylic), but it was TOO thin. The guy at Lowe's told me the acrylic should hold up better that the Plexiglas (but admitted he didn't know anything about soap making, so couldn't be 100% sure).

I have both the Mr. DoRight molds and the TOG slab molds with the foam liner system. I just unmolded my soap (a few minutes ago) and my Mr. Doright mold does stick. I have to smooth on the soap chunk that does not release. It could be possible that I need to wait a day longer to unmold. As for the TOG mold with foam liner system.. I could not be more happy. The mold unhinges on the sides and the soap lifts right out every time. I just ordered another one. For me, the foam liners work awesome. I am not sure why anyone is having a problem, but everyones experiences are different. I will not even look back at another mold. The foam liners wash off easily and I put them back in the mold right away. Best mold I have EVER used thus far. Just my 2 cents!Teri

  10. Since it seems like there are a few of us that have ventured into soaping at around the same time, I was wondering if we should do a little beginners soapers swap.. might not be the right forum, but I would love to try some of your creations, and I would love to send off one of mine so we could see some of the fruit of our labor. It looks like there are several of us in the same boat. I have made about 20 batches with 3 more going today. I am totally addicted and think it would be great to send what we feel is our favorite recipe/fragrance combination to one another. This would not even have to be just for new soapers, but possibly a "Favorite CP recipe/fragrance swap" We don't have to divulge our recipes if we don't want to, but I would love some feedback on what I have made so far...Just tossing it out there. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong spot.. please move if necessary. Please let me know what anyone thinks!Teri

  11. Sheesh.. Grandma.. I think I am just as bad as you! I keep looking at how much I have left and I feel a mild panic starting. I have 15#'s on its way, but since it is not here, I am getting a bit nervous! I keep assessing my oils stock to remind myself that I need to make a Walmart run to get some more Coconut oil and Crisco! To think that I came here to learn more about candles.. now I am saying.. candles.. whaaat candles.. oh.. those... they are okay.. but man.. you should check out my soap! LOL!

Thank you Meredith. That is so incredibly nice! But I just heard my email ding… and it was notice he’s shipped my order! I feel like a heroin addict that just scored! :P
