  1. After you make your tarts, how long do you let them sit before you bag them up?

I have to put mine in the freezer for a bit to get them out of the molds and then I let them sit but sometimes I feel like I get impatient and bag them too quickly. I just made tarts this evening and they still feel a little "moist". I use Soy wax.

Have you ever made tarts in the evening and bagged them up the next morning? I have and they seemed fine.

  2. I made tarts tonight and they are still "moist" feeling so should I wait to bag them? Could that be why they look dry on the edges and wet in the middle when they sit for awhile, they don't do that until a few weeks later and it seems like it is the oils form Snowtop that I notice it.

  5. I make a bunch of one scent at a time, then I package in polypro bags and label, then put into plastic boxes according to scent. That way when I have an order they're all ready to go. I have some tarts that are over a year old and there's no scent loss at all. I sell them singly but don't think I'd ever melt wax just to make one or two. It's WAY too much trouble to do only one or two at a time IMO.

Thanks, that is what I am going to do. I bought some Sterilite Shoe Boxes today and they have the "5" on the bottom and I am going to put the tarts in the polypro bags and put them in the shoe boxes. I need to find a place for the shoe boxes now LOL.

  6. Ok we talked about storing oils, how do you all store your wax?

I have mine in a box in our bedroom closet but would like another way or place to put it. I have my oils and stuff to make tarts in the kitchen cabinet but the wax won't fit in there LOL.

  7. I use JS 100% Soy with their oils. I LOVE THEM!! I just ordered a sample pack and am trying out some new ones.

    Paula:yay:

JS 100% soy..........is that Just Scent?

I use Snowtop's 100% soy wax and like it, it is the pellet form

  8. most of their oils do not work for me in mc's pure soy 415. some others have had good luck. i would suggest getting a sample pack and see if they work for youl.

    I use Snowtop's 100% soy wax.

I always try the sampler packs first and then if I like them, I order bigger bottles.

  9. Anyone use their oils?

I like the site because with me using soy wax, they give reviews for soy wax, so I get the ones that say they are really good in soy hehe. I haven't placed an order yet, but have a list of ones I want.

  10. I put each tart in a cellophane 3x5.5 bag from Aroma Haven. I fold the bag over and seal with a 1 1/2 inch round label on which I have printed the scent name. I sell more tarts than anything. Many people want to buy a large bag of assorted fragrances. Some want 10 or more of the same scent. I never have them around for long. I wouldn't consider making less than 4 of any scent at a time. Usually I make at least 6 or 8.

Those are the bags that I use too

  11. hehe, trust me, any container candle from the dollar store, just not worth it. Im going to let this one keep burning, and im going to make another one with the next size up and see which burn I like better. This is the closest ive gotten so far to a working container out of several wick combos ive tried over the last few months, and im trying hard not to get frustrated. Votives and tea lights were so easy to wick, wish it was the same for these guys.

What I am gathering is even if I have to play with the candle a whee bit to have it perform to its peak, customers will not think of this as odd, because they have to do it with any other candle theyve ever had anyways. Is this correct?? :P

Put your jar candle from the Dollar Store on a candle jar warmer and melt it instead of lighting it. That is what I do with the ones that don't burn right.

    Just a thought
