that is exactly what I was just thinking before I saw your post.

those are really very unique and wonderful looking soaps. no reason to have any trouble "getting rid" of them! if I sent you my address, you could send them here!

The votives need the holders, I "think" because they have a lower melt point. I know when I have burned mine, they tend to leak down the one side. My wick has a tendancy to shift a little off center.

I use a pillar votive preblend wax also.

Just for starters, find a supplier closes to you. The rest? I don't use soy, so I can't help. Others will be along I am sure to help with that.

Up at the top are things in red called stickys. They have alot of info on suppliers, and some of them even have links to the old board that tell what wicks work with what wax and fo. Good luck and take your time researching!

I use the KY 143 pillar blend and love it. And you really are having fun. That alone is the most important thing, that and the wax smell good, even while melting again and again.

But, you are having FUN right? Haven't decided if I want to play with soy yet, and after reading some of these problems, I am thinking soap could be more fun!

The stuff in this pot is really hard. Not sure what the consistancy of the natural is, never bothered to find out. But sitting around looking at this site and all this soap, I do believe before that grandbaby comes, I will be a soap making fool. I would rather play with the lye free things for a start though. The bath salts, milk baths, the Bunny bath melts, the bath bombs...

I really appreciate how you all have been helping me out.

I will check back on the miller site again about that soap recipe too.

It is cocoa butter formula by Palmers

ingredient list:

theobroma cacao(cocoa) extract,Mineral oil(paraffinum liquidum), microcrystalline wax (cera microcrystallina), theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, dimethicone, fragrance (parfum), tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E), carotene (c1 40800)

So, it has cocoa extract, cocoa butter, vitamin e, preservatives, fo, and wax?

I am pretty sure that there is just cocoa butter out there, but this is what I have. I was kinda considering trying the Bunny Bath Melts...:embarasse

Not saying I won't, but not until I am really sure of what I am doing!

Thanks euginia, I checked the canister my dd left behind, and it has all kinds of stuff in it. I am not going to start any b&b right away anyways, but you never know what you have hiding in plain sight.

I was just looking at the miller soap page, followed along, and found the part where to find ingredients. Ok, so far so good right? I don't make any b&b yet, just because I am still having fun with candles, but I keep thinking, maybe soon. Back to the part about the cocoa butter. Is the cocoa butter found in the health and beauty isle the same as the kind you all use in soap? Or am I missing something?

I also have seen a supplier on the right hand side for plastic centering tools. I don't use them, so I have no idea if they work or not tho.

The wax I have been using lately is the KY143.

Their soy waxes run even less than that, but I like the pillar blend, really smooth and creamy. And I am lazy about things like additives.

Hi, I am in Fl also. I just went to that site as well, because really, who wouldn't like to find wax closer? But, if they are charging $50 for a case of soy, and that is all they sell, I really don't save alot if I have to drive a total of 5 hours to get it,KWIM? I really like the wax that I have gotten from KY and I really don't think that the shipping was soo bad. IMHO. The soy wax in KY is around $38 for 50lbs. Shipping about $24? My time? Priceless.
