  1. I’m in a studio area in a house, nice conditions, very comfortable. Problem is, I can’t be burning heaters and melting wax in this area. I have a decent portion of the room to pour and let candles cool, but that’s about it. Because of this I built a small metal shed in the backyard, I can stand up in it and have ran electricity out there. This is where I have made candles in the past and hope to start making them again. I have a ton of experimentation to partake in, once again, but that’s another discussion. First, I’m looking for any type of feedback in regards to melting my wax in said shed, and carrying the pitchers inside where I have my scale and cooling racks. It’s freezing outside right now and I’m just wondering if this is going to have any negative effects on the wax. I’ve been on a hiatus for almost two years now from the candle game, but have most of my notes and have had success in the beginning. Thanks for taking time to read.
  2. What's your name? Hey everyone, My name’s Joey. How old are you? Im 29 Where do you live? Im from the Jersey Shore How long have you been making candles/soap/whatever? Ive been attempting to make candles for about three years now. How did you get started making candles/soap/whatever? I’ve always had a tendency to maintain a side hustle. Different concepts have come and gone over time. A lot of home decor crafts/woodworking have been working for me, but the practicality of producing such things has lost some of its appeal for me, as far as being profitable that is. I’m a big time fishermen, and so, I’ve collected many shells over the years, and my sea glass collection is pretty serious. I’ve enjoyed, and still do enjoy, incorporating my finds from the beach into art and craft ideas, But I needed another lane, and candles it was, It’s a lane with many potholes 😂😂 Are you married? Any kids? I am not married and have no children. If candle/Soap making isn't your primary job, what do you do? As much as I would like it to be, candle making is not my main source of income. I run operations for a flooring company out here in New Jersey. Grateful for my position, But it’s not as expressive as I would like. Anything else we should know? Think I covered most of the basics. If I’m being honest, I’ve been slacking on my candle goals. Originally I started with GB464, I gained some experience and traction with that. Learned a few things and eventually had friends and family raving about my candles. I too was even slightly impressed with them at one point. Jars being out of stock and a multitude of testing led me off the path and basically back to square one. Life and trying to enjoy it has gotten in the way, But the dream is still alive. I’ve maintained my LLC, Business Bank Accounts, Etc. I know, I should have waited. But I like to keep things legitimate, That’s just how I am. Spoken about business insurance with some professionals but holding off on that until I’m confident enough to market my product. The last few months I’ve switched gears and been working with IGI 6006, I have to say, I think I’m onto something. I’ve been floating around on this forum for a few months in the shadows, Picking around the threads and learning what I can, Figured I would participate moving forward. I know what I need to do, Testing and more testing. I’m not looking for a free handout like most of the newbie threads on here (They really piss me off, Reddit as well) Just wanted to be active and say what’s up. I have a small army behind me ready to market my product when I give the command. Until then, I have some work to do. Have a great day people.
