  1. Hi all, I have recently decided I would like to stick to either 444 or a blend of CBL130 / CBL125 and figure things out from here. Does anyone have any insight as to which might be the better bet? I have strictly made Wax Melts and the natural progression of things tells me to learn candles. I have been on and off for about a year and just cant get things figured out between good HT but jar temps over 155 or good jar temp and light HT. I have stuck with 7% but I just keep seeing how so many ppl go upwards of 10% with success but some say less is more so I think I am at a point of paralysis by analysis...any help for someone who has hit a wall?
  2. Thank you for posting these charts. In your experience, how are you using the ROC and Yield to pinpoint the wick you are aiming for?
  3. Do you feel that we can no longer rely on the 6% thing? I have been making wax melts for a year and have been trying different wax blend and finding the best wicks etc etc to no avail, if you dont mind, could you share what your process is? Meaning if you have a new scent blend and are going to test, are you making 3-4 jars with different FO loads from 6% up to 10 to see what works best?
  4. Hi all, now I know every wax/wax blend has a max FO load, my question is more of a do you find better performance/HT from lower percentage over higher? I am in the very early stages of candle making (make wax melts primarily) and in all of my research I have seen ppl say less is more(6-7%) but also see others discussing how they use 10% in all their blends so I am wondering for the experienced folks in here...what do you find works best? I know it all comes down to testing but are you pouring 3-4 candles of the same scent/wax blend at 6, 7, 8, 9 etc? Any and all advice is welcomed, I have been doing testing with so many different types of wax blends, have just about every wick series there is and just cant seem to nail it. Bought a buddys candles in a 8oz square mason jar and it fills up my whole living space within half hour of being lit but none of the ones I have made have been able to get to that performance....frustrating to say the least..at least I can get my wax melts to that point, but candles...different story.
