  1. I put them in individual cello bags and store them in #5 ziploc containers.  I've had some for 2 years.  Most sell quicker!  I use the Stretch Magic .7mm jewelry cord (translucent elastic).  I'm in KY and the only time I had one melt in the car was when I trapped it between the window and the sunshade.  I also have a few suction cups at shows and tell people they can hang them in a sunny bedroom window.  I used to do this to my son when he was a teenager.  ha!  The warmth of the sun brings out the scent.

  2. I had 2 shows back to back last weekend.  Did Ok at the first; not as good as last year.  The second was my 9th year at this show.  I always do well and have many repeat customers.  I walked it to set up and found that I had been moved from my usual spot to a spot in the corner!  I went and found the organizer and she said I didn't say I wanted the same spot as last year.  I always check that!  Turns out it wasn't on the application and you had to write it in.  Sneaky people.  But, they did switch me back to my usual spot and I was grateful.  Had my best show ever there.  Funny thing is usually ornies fly off the rack so I made tons!  Sold a few - pillars were moving this year.  Go figure.

  3. I've been pouring candles since 2005 - it was bound to happen.  Last week I got near the bottom of the presto so I just emptied it and wiped out all the floaters.  I filled it back up with 4 pounds of wax ready to go again.  I turned it on tonight and went upstairs when my daughter called me.  Yep.  I forgot to close the spigot!  Thankfully, I had also scraped my table so it was clean.  All I had to do was scrap up about 3 pounds of wax and put it back in the pot.  sheesh!

  4. If I wanted 28 oz of scented wax I would melt 26 oz. wax and add 2 oz fragrance.  I have a chart that breaks it down by 4%, 6% and 9% so I don't have to do the math each time.

If I'm pouring pillars and need a second pour I just leave it in the pot.  If I have left over wax after the repour I just pour it in my "everything" pot and use it for fire starters.  You can pour it in a dixie cup and melt it down to add it to the next batch.  It will be fine.

My pour pots have never seen water.  I hit it with the heat gun (I actually use an embosser gun) and wipe it out.  Paper towels are my friend - cheap ones at that!

The search function will turn up a wealth of knowledge.  When I started I read every post from the oldest to the newest but I imagine that would be a little tough now.
