  1. Can someone explain to me how you go about shrink wrapping votives, like they do in the store? Also, what size labels do you use for candle tins? like the 16 oz. and 8 oz. round label on top and rectangle on the side. Thanks You ~
  2. Thanks everyone for your help!!!
  3. Can someone tell me where to purchase blank hang tags in sheets for printing? If anyone has some of these they would like to sell please let me know. Thank you!
  4. Just wanted to post this link for anyone who wants to purchase labels without buying a whole box. Great way to try new styles, they have a great selection. Foil, Kraft, Glossy... Maybe you have all seen this place before, but I though it was a good deal so humor me! http://labelsbythesheet.com
  5. Hey can you guys read my next post I have a few more questions in there, if you would be so kind!
  6. You guys are hilarious, lets just keep it a friendly debate now Ok. I don't want to be the cause of any animosity.
  7. I had suspected that when they said laminate they would be thick. Thanks for the advice, you have answered my question.
  8. I had expected to be deluged with pro soy making advice, funny the first reply was a seemingly unbiased straight forward opinion. That's what I love about this board! You are right on with my concerns. I surely don't want to spend such a great deal of time perfecting my products and packaging and have them turn to junk a month after I ship them down the road to a paying customer. Amazing how brilliant minds think alike, huh? Any other opinions here???
  9. I have heard that you can use a Xyron machine to run labels through to protect them from moisture and give them a more glossy appearance. Does this work good, anyone ever use those?
  10. Ok, as you can tell I am liking very much the idea of soy candles but I am still riding the fence and have yet to make a complete switch. I just have so many questions so I will ask a bit more in this one thread so I don't hog this whole board with my silly babble. LOL Do customers truly tend to like soy candles more and does this convert into paying customers, or do they just sniff and handle and then buy Yankmee candles anyway? How much extra cost will this add in the long run in extra fragrance and coloring and is the added cost worth the benefits? Will converting my products from parrafin to soy truly make my products better and more saleable, or is it more hype than it sounds? Does soy generaly need to be wicked heavier than parrafin, or does it depend on just the type of soy and fragrance load? Is there a better place on the internet to ask so many questions and get so much helpful advice from so many great people than here on this Candletech board? LOL...Who says nothings free..
  11. Thanks, I will remember that. You all are a wealth of knowledge!!!
  12. I am still learning about soy based candles and I am very interested in the benefits and marketing value of offering this to my customers, but I read somewhere that soy candles are frowned upon by some retailers because in the long term they are untested and prone to cracking and other problems. Can someone set me straight on this? Thanks in advance...
  13. Mill Creek has this Golden 444 listed with a fragrance retention of 15% Is this possible, or just a generous advertising ploy?
  14. I am new to candle making but I just have one suggestion. Take a breath man! Just remember if you think too much about the business side of things your wonderful products will suffer for it, remember to smile and enjoy what your doing or what is the point anyway? Keep it light, keep it fun and it will all work itself out in the end
  15. Sorry guys I know I have alot of dumb questions, but this seams like such a good place to ask them. Let me know if I'm driving you insane. I'm trying hard to peice this all together LOL. What would you add to wax to make your colors as bright as they can be. Is there a way to make neon colors really look like...uh...neon colors? oh, that sizzling sound thats my brain frying....LOL
  16. Is there anyway to make them like die cuts, ya know...in shapes?
  17. Is there a good place to purchase blank hang tags? Maybe in different sizes or shapes than just the standard squares...Or any advice on how to make your own that still look professional...Thanks for the help!
  18. Has anyone ever even heard of this before? I've had no response yet in my other thread. Guess this is hard to find. Hmmm...
  19. by the way, I love their doodlbug (smells like cream soda) and best friends, Country Bumpkin, Lick me all over, and many others...
  20. I have ordered quite a few products from NG and I can tell you in my experience they have been first class, in quality of product, shipping time and packaging. They are a great supplier to deal with, add that with the fact that they offer original fragrance formulations not available anywhere else and you can't go wrong with NG. Beck ~
  21. This sounds very cool, i was wondering where this mag was...Theres some good suggestions on here already but I think you should also have a featured artist section and maybe a contest section with different categories, where they could win prizes or advertising space. I'll bet most on here would pay for this mag in the future and with that money you could make it even bigger and better maybe even a monthly publication.
  22. Yes I have personal experience with this. I used to sell some things on ebay and I was contacted by the same type of people. They were willing To pay over 3,000 for a 1,800 laptop, by credit card and thank you much my kind friend for doing me great favor in helping me... poor me, poor me, bla bla bla. They were willing to do anything to get it. Come to find out they were from Nigeria and they always ended there emails the same way with Regards so and so. Yes this is a scam for sure, and no do not do business with these people. There are places on the internet that you can report fraud like this. They are using stolen cc numbers. It is a dead give away when someone interested in candles would like you to please help me get 5 peices of nokia n95 cell phones. I was told this is like a 95 billion dollar a year scam. Sellers Beware!!!
  23. Ok I have another couple questions. I am seriously thinking about switching to soy exclusively, trouble is I don't know squat about the stuff. I would really like to still be able to make a nice smooth looking candle, and also a great looking mottled candle. Can anyone point me in the right direction as far as what's what? Also How much more FO and dye will I need with this wax? Thanks in advance ~
