  1. Hi, I'm making some soap for my father's 57th class reunion as party favors. I decided to use M&P soap and insert some wording with water soluble paper.

I made my test batch and the wording bled very slightly. I saw some posts that stated theirs turned to blurs after a certain time.

I have a test batch that I completed three days ago. So far it hasn't bled any further. Does anyone know what cure time is considered "fine" so that I know my soaps won't bleed anymore? Is one week sufficient? Any help would greatly be appreciated!

    Thanks! :wink2:

  2. I know several here weren't too impressed with them, however I figured I'd give them a try.

I purchased $100 with my initial order all samples. I was delighted with several of their fragrances, they did well in a soy/par blend. I only buy their premium line. Their dupes are very true (at least the ones I tried):

Amazing Grace (very true, and soft but not a weak scent)

Toasted Marshmallow (this one throws all over the place)

    Black Cherry (super strong)

    Sugar

    Ralph Lauren Blue (great!)

Chamomile & Sage (great in B&B)

  3. I too used to sell samples and it was too much work for a little bit of money. Now I premake them and throw them in with orders and I offer a sample pack for very cheap with a $15 minimum order and a limit of three sample packs per order and have priced it for more.

  4. It is suppose to break down when rubbed into the skin. What product are you using them in?

Whatever product you are using them I believe it must contain at least 15% water (off the top of my head - I think this is the correct percentage). If you are using them in a product that does not have enough water, you can always presoak them in a product that does have enough water, or just plain distilled water or shower gel, etc and then add it to your product.

  5. That's unusual. My UPS driver brings small boxes to my porch, and the larger ones always to my garage doors. He's very nice and always rings the bell when he drops off my packages. If I'm outside he offers to bring them in my garage or inside my home. The Fedex lady is just as nice. Unfortunately our postman is not! He just drops off packages on my porch and doesn't bother to ring the bell....mind you he's old and grouchy. :D

  6. Actually it does in the state of WA. You can check on a business license by doing a query with part of the business name, UBI/Tax Registration Number etc at the WA state's Department of Revenue's website. It's great and very easy to use. It gives you everything from the ID number, name of legal entity, DBA names, mailing address, busines location, date filed, etc.

  7. Thanks for all the input! I sent her another email politely asking her for her Business License number and/or Tax I.D. since she "forgot" to put it in the last email she sent. I haven't heard back from her. Also her email address states her last name as Vale but she asked me to send it to Vasquez at Crystal Lake Spa.

My DH did a search for me and the address is indeed a home, in fact he found a home for rent two houses down! Heads up on Crystal Lake Spa!

  8. I recently received a request for samples from a spa. This individual requested samples so they could be reviewed at their meeting a friend had recommended my company.

I was a little skeptical because but figured I'd check it out. I googled the spa and couldn't find a thing. Then I looked up the address on google earth and it looks like a neighborhood. I tried a reverse lookup on the phone and nothing either. So I shot her an email asking for some basic information such as Years in Business, Average Quarterly Sales, Tax I.D. etc. I really didn't think she'd reply! She did! She sent SOME of the information but didn't offer up a Tax I.D. and mentioned two lines that they carry and that they are currently remodeling.

Do you think I should send her a request for her Tax I.D. or suck it up and send her some samples????? I'm a little on the fence about this. Help!

  9. Hi, I've been using Onlinelabels.com to purchase clear labels for my B&B products. They are fine with the exception that they don't stay stuck on the jars but for five or so showers. Does anyone have a recommendation for a company that sells clear labels that stay on B&B products well? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

  10. I get my wax and some FO's from them. Pete is excellent to work with. I live in WA and if I place an order in the morning I usually get it a shipment notification the same day and delivery the next. I've communicated via email as well as phone and both are great with answering questions. Their storefront is a bit strange, however if you can't make their hours of operation you can call ahead and let them you know you'll be dropping by and they will open up the store for you. Their website is a bit strange and difficult to navigate, however you can just call in an order too.
