  1. Hope this helps. You can find more at http://www.aeslic.com/Glossary.htm General Liability Insurance - Coverage that pertains, for the most part, to claims arising out of the insured's liability for injuries or damage caused by ownership of property, manufacturing operations, contracting operations, sale or distribution of products, and the operation of machinery, as well as professional services. Aggregate Limit - The maximum limit of coverage available under a liability policy during a specified period of time regardless of the number of separate accidents that may occur or the number of claims that may be made. Product Liability Insurance - Protection against financial loss arising out of the legal liability incurred by a manufacturer, merchant, or distributor because of injury or damage resulting from the use of a covered product. Completed Operations Insurance - A type of insurance that cover's a contractor's liability for accidents arising out of jobs or operations that was completed by the contractor. I'd call/write the agent and state directly what you want to have covered. The agent may not understand fully, or he may expect you to already know. Hey look man, let's say someone buys my candle, lights it, and it burns his house down, am I covered? If he/she is unable to totally explain the terms and conditions of your policy, keep shopping. My understanding of product liability and craft shows - If someone picks up a jar and cut their finger you are covered. The product caused harm. If they are walking around and fall from a wet floor, unless it's your show (you manage it, set it up, promote .....) this is none of your concern. Your home owner's insuarance might cover your inventory. State Farm covers us 100% for our house, home business (not candle), inventory, autos, and life insurance.
  2. Given the choice between UPS and FedEx Ground, I will always choose UPS. FedEx Ground is actually a different company than widely known FedEx Express. FedEx Ground is an independant contrator based company with different CEOs and presidents. They use different warehouses, drivers, and trucks than the normal FedEx Express. FedEx Ground is Pittsburgh-based, used to be called RPS, which is/was a subsidary of Roadway Express Inc. Though FedEx Express does own FedEx Ground, it is not ran by them. FedEx Express only collects a portion of the profits. Important stuff to know when you need to file a damage claim, attempt to contact customer service, or deal with the company in any way. (Which is a pain in the ass IMO).
  3. To be honest, all of us that are getting spoof emails need to change email accounts ASAP!!! I've tried several different email providers, hotmail, yahoo, my isp's, my webhosting's, and gmail. I now use 3 email accounts, one for business, personal, and spam. The spam account is for all of those websites that require you to sign up and leave an email addy. I settled on using GMail because of it's antispam and antiphishing filters. My ISP(s) were by far the worse for getting spam and phishing email. Cox, SBCGlobal, and Roadrunner. Cox being the bottom of the barrell. The primary account would get 150+ spam email a day, and I had never used it for anything. The fact the email servers would die and or get hacked almost weekly wasn't nice either. About ebay............ just don't . Amazon has a much better merchant account program with lower fees, and a better layout. Plus they protect the buyer AND seller more than ebay does.
  4. It does stink when your account gets hacked. But it's also important to remember rather it was paypal's fault or not. Tons of people have their regular bank accounts hacked into daily, but we don't see " banc one sucks .com, or first national bank sucks.com" even though those (actual regular bank accounts) are compromised far more often than paypal is. I'd bet if you had made a purchase using your actual CC# instead of paypal, the account would have been cleaned out. By using paypal, there was a buffer in place that protected your bank account. I've had a paypal merchant account for 6 years now. The only problem I have with paypal, is how quick they will refund a buyers payment without an investigation. Both my paypal and actual bank accounts have had non approved charges committed on them. A simple email and phone call to paypal, and the problem was resolved inside 3 weeks. I don't want to get into what I had to do with my bank account, but it involved having to obtain a new account number, new checks, new debit card, changing all of my auto pay services, waiting 6 weeks for all of my money to be returned, all along dealing with a rep that I didn't feel was committed to customer service, and this after I had submitted signed affidavits to prove my case. Just make sure you understand the security issues that are out there with internet commerce, and know who your buying from.
  5. I guess it's just a matter of opinion , but I can tell you her sex on the beach smells just like the Pina Colada drinks I've drank. I tried the Pina Colada, don't remember much other than it didn't throw that well for me, and maybe a slight butter scent <--- but my memory could be off on that one. Both of those two scents have the same make up, pineapple and coconut, with sex on the beach being slightly sweeter because of the melon. Either way, I'd suggest to sample both. No two palettes are the same. The 415 is great if you have the right FOs. Some FOs just do not throw at all in that wax. It can be frustrating, since I've used the same ones in paraffin, and they would knock your socks off. When you find the ones that do, look out
  6. JS calls it "Sex on the Beach". But it has a pina colada mixture, and smells like pina colada to me. Hot throw at 9% in plain 415 is out of this world to us.
  7. After the wax is melted, it's cooked at 200 for 45 minutes, then brought down to 180 to mix in the stearic, vybar, and color. Then lowered to 170 to mix in the FO. After stirring for a bit (3-4 minutes) it's then poured into the the molds at 170. The above method has worked without problems for countless other FOs. So have you tried AAA's bubblegum and BNB?
  8. I ordered some scents from AAA Candle, and have some mixed reviews. Love the Strawberries and Cream, along with the dreamcicle. Cucumber Melon is Ok, but I'm not a fan of this FO. My problems are with the BNB and bubblegum. The bubblegum smells like a sweet acetone, hot, cold, even in the bottle. Banana Nut Bread reminds me of burnt ink. Just awfull. I use a straight paraffin wax with 2 TableSP/pound of stearic plus 1/4 TableSP/pound of vybar. Making tarts, and 5oz jars for candle warmers. FO was tried at 1.0oz, 0.75oz, and 0.5oz per pound. Using 0.5oz FO with the bubblegum did tone it down a bit, but it ended up smelling like a weak acetone. Anyone else have trouble with these scents from AAA (or any other supplier) or is the problem perhaps with my nose? My testers all gave mixed results on the BNB and bubblegum. From 5 people, 5 different results.
