  1. Yes, you read that right lol. Does anyone know of a realistic, swampy lake smell FO out there?
  2. Do you have some recommendations for quality suppliers? I've seen posts on being weary of buying from Ebay wholesale suppliers for example.
  3. Hi guys! Wanna ask our forum experts a good question: what are a couple of the best fragrance oil suppliers you've gotten oil from? I've been ordering alot of sample oils trying to find some ones to really sit on.
  4. Hi guys! I just ordered 20 sample scents from Indigo and I have to say I'm not too impressed. I didn't smell them all back to back (to give my nose a break) but some of them were just so faint, I know a good candlemaker doesn't judge the smell just out of the bottle, but has anyone had good experiences with their products?
  5. Thank you guys so much, you're helping me make this much easier.
  6. Hi, are there any tricks for controlling the wax temperature when adding FO and pouring? For example, IGI 4627 instructions say to add FO at 185 and pour at 180 - I don't even have time to stir it properly before I need to pour it 😂 Can I put it back on the burner for a few minutes to warm up to the pouring level or is that terrible? Love the forum guys.
  7. Knoxville is about 4 hours away from me, besides Amazon I can't seem to find a good website that offers a decent shipping rate.
  8. Hello all! Just wanted to see if anyone had some favorite locations for choosing containers? Looking for as much advice/suggestions as I can get!
  9. Thank you, finally got my hands on some and wanted to be prepared!
  10. Just wondering if it is already blended into the mix or if I need to add some? Thanks!
  11. Thank you guys! This is a hobby I'm trying my hardest to turn into a small business. I've searched the internet over for 6006 (which seems to be the best reviewed in terms of HT) but it is just so expensive for me, especially with shipping. The nearest candle making supplier for me is in Knoxville TN (about 5 hours away). So far I've spent less than $60 on paraffin and soy wax from Michaels (thanks to some amazing coupons) I've done over 30 tests so far with different fragrance loads, wax mixtures, and wicks. I truly did not think candle making would be such a science 😆
  12. Well, essentially trying to get the 'best of both worlds'. I've read that 6006 is a fantastic blend (very hard to find at the moment), so I was trying to be a bit budget conscious and make my own? I'm open to any and all suggestions you can offer me
  13. Hi guys! New(ish) candle maker here. I've been working with Artminds paraffin wax from Michaels for over a month now and really wanted to reach out to see if anyone has had any luck with it? I blend soy with it (sort of a 70% para/30% soy) and add a touch of vybar. Does anyone have any information about it? Trying to figure out what works best in terms of fragrance load or wicks. Thanks guys!
