  1. Hi There Try http://www.lazertran.com we use there inkjet paper on white candles. You need to coat them with an acrilic spray varnish to stop the edges curling but the results are very good with some practice. They ship from the UK so shipping should not cost too much. Conor
  2. Folks These guys are just learning how to rip off people check out this London based designer:p http://www.jomalone.co.uk/site.nsf/shop/productspage?readform&type=3&subcat=CAT0031&cat=living&product=PROD0360&CartID=7194-101836 Rember the prices are in sterling. (I wish I could get this price) Conor
  3. Hi Shauny Welcome to the board. We are a candlemaker based in Co. Clare and yes the shipping is crazy from the USA. Here are some links to try for suppliers in the UK. http://www.fullmoons-cauldron.co.uk/candlemakingsupplies.htm http://www.candlemaking.org.uk/supplier-reviews.html http://www.candlemaking.uk.com/. Hope they can be some help. One tip if you are ordering from the states and shipping is UPS, make sure you fill the boxes because there is a charge of about $80 per box whether it has 1lb or 26lbs (max) the price goes up with every LB but the avarage per LB is much lower when the box is full. All the best Conor
  4. Thanks Chris I have some of the smaller ones but wanted a big one to make wedding candle sets with. Any other ideas ????
  5. Hi all I am looking for a large pillar mold with a peak top (church candle) approx 4" dia and about 12" tall. I have searched the web and all my regular suppliers and cannot find one. Anybody got any ideas?? Thanks Conor
  6. We had this problem with some fo's etching the surface of the mold and leving a stain of the last color on the inside of the mold. Pollycarbonate is attacked by some (most?) fo's and after a while the mold looses its shine. This is not a worry for rustics but you cannot use the mold to make smooth finished candles.
  7. Hi We also get cracks when using this mold. We make these stars in Black or Ivory and the cracks only occur in the ivory ones. Cooling the candle more slowly (keeping the room temp up) helps somewhat but the damm things still crack sometimes. Conor
  8. We use the one from BCN and it has a great hot throw in all our waxes Conor:p
  9. Hi Folks We had the same problem with bubbles and it was caused by the mold release, that silicone spray sure is slippery. The cure we use is to polish the surface where the decal is going with a pair of tights, this scratches the surface slightly and helps the adhesive to stick to the candle. Also with the material we use here in europe (lazertrans) you apply as normal with water and before the decal is dry we paint on some methalated spirits, this helps the decal to stick better. Conor It's not raining in Ireland
  10. Hi folks We tried a mix of Red hot cinnamon, vanilla and the dreaded fresh baked bread and what do you know it turned out fantastic. Great throw and wonderfull warm smell. All we need now is a name for the damm thing, I don't think musty butt or smelly socks will apeal to the customers though LOL:yay: Thanks again for all the suggestions Conor
  11. No need, we make hundreds of 8oz tins and use a standard container warning label. Some customers leave back the tins for us to reuse and I have never seen the label damaged or scorched. Conor
  12. Bcn Spiced apple is a great seller for us and customers keep coming back for more:yay:
  13. Thanks for all the suggestions I think we will try it with some spicey scents and see what happens. I am glad I am not the only one who thinks this fo stinks. Lol:shocked2: Conor
  14. Hi All I have a pound of fresh baked bread FO from bcn and it is a terrible seller, some people think it smells of dirty socks!! while others do like it. Has anybody mixed this FO with anything else. I can't think of anything to mix it with. Thanks Conor:p
  15. I agree, I am based in Ireland and the shipping often is as much as the products. I am sure there are cheaper options but they are not offered by most online suppliers Conor:mad:
