  1. For Christmas last year my sister bought me a pail of the gel candle stuff that the craft store sells.

While thoughtful, I've never made gel candles before ...

I'd like to use this up if possible, rather than selling it.

Any ideas for something quick and easy that I can do with this to make it pretty?

I have regular candle wax, soy wax, and regular candle color dyes ... also some wicks & containers.

I doubt my regular candle wax (as embeds) would be stable enough to hold up when the hot gel is poured over it?

    Thanks in advance!

  2. *Not sure if this was more suitable for the Recipe Thread or here, so please move it if it's in the wrong place!*

I have an awesome friend that lives in New Zealand. Her profession is as a chef ... which means she abuses her nails and hands everyday!

I am looking for some recipes that might help her regain the softness I know her precious hands desire. ;)

I've seen some people also making such things as cuticle balms, etc. - if you have any recipes (or other tips!) for hands/nails ... please let me know!

    Many Thanks,

    Meg

  3. Wow, they have a CP kit too. Quite pricey, but would fun to try it out! I wonder how much insurance THEY have when anyone of any age can buy it and mess with it.

Yeah, two hours away. :( I live way back in the Mountains ... I NEED a Target! Funny thing is, everytime I go, I buy myself an entire new bedroom set. So perhaps it's good I dont have one here!

  4. Wow, very interesting!

Next time I'm there (two hours away .. BOO!) I'll def. check it out! I love Target, they have such fun stuff!

Bath Salts have never sold well for me. I can't imagine $17 for a small jar. Pity the person who buys those!

    The garden soaps sound lovely!

    Thanks for the head's up!

  5. I have to agree. If you're looking for a true fisherman's soap ... go with Anise Oil! My uncle (an avid fisherman and guide) uses the pure Anise oil on all of his fishing supplies (and himself).

From what he says, it truly works!

  6. I usually stick to 1oz of F.O. in tarts. I haven't yet made the wickless candles yet (but boy, that would be great to do! No fussing with wicks!).

Im interested to hear your responses. I would love to know if it was possible to add additional FO.

But, I will say that I have added too much FO to tarts before and the oil floated to the top and was wet to the touch with it after formed.

  7. I have yet to add bath bombs to my line (I wish I had a dependable recipe!).

But, if I did have them ... I like the idea of shrink wrapping them individually. Also, I'm thinking about getting those small boxes used for chocolates and such. Would be nice to display three or so to a box and have it labeled up nice. Clear boxes would be an even nicer alternative!
