  3. Hello fellow candle makers I really need some help and I’m hoping someone can give me some advice as I have reached that point (which I’m sure a lot of you reached ) where by you have tried so many wick and wax variations and you start to loose the plot slightly. .. anyway here it is I have purchased the RCX rapeseed and coconut wax recently along side SCX coconut and soy wax and have done some wick testing but can’t seem to find a match for my 30cl jars. I have tried the recommended wicks on the website below with no fragrance just wax and wicks: RCX: CL12- mushroomed melt pool too deep sized down CL10: mushroomed not burned all the way to the edges and tunnelled slightly VRL 14: slight mushrooming didn’t melt all the way to edges some tunnelling? Not right choice. V12: slight tunnelling, melt pool too small sized up V14: burned to edges apart from very small amount minimally mushrooming at 4 hours (the best out of the bunch but still not perfect) SCX Stablio 14: melt pool too big mushrooming sized down Stabilo 12: mushrooming, would have reached sides but whisk off centred, melt pool too big. CL12:mushrooming,melt pool too big. sized down. CL10: mushrooming ,acceptable melt pool burned to edges. LX22:melted to edge some left over on side very minimal amount good melt pool no mushrooming. (the best out of the bunch but not perfect) my question are these 1.Are there any other wicks you recommend I try? 2.How much mushrooming is acceptable? 3. if there is a small amount of wax left on the side is this ok(I would prefer a smooth burn if achievable) Your advice is much appreciated I really would like to move onto adding fragrance but seem stuck in this phase. I understand it’s part of the process and really appreciate your experiences if you have faced these issues. Kind regards B
  4. Hello I have just started in the candle making world. I started off with eco soya 135 and I am still trialling wicks in a 30cl container( it hasn’t been easy) but I am pushing through and just ordered some TCR wicks and have hopes for LX wicks which I’ve read may work. my question is for the ecococo wax what wick recommendations would anyone have please ??? not a lot of information on wicks on the ecococo site and this is a wax I am thinking of trialling Thank you all :))
