  1. lmao! The 1st thing you should do when you come to this board is do some reading and/or searching if you have a question. It really is much more helpful for you and then if you can't find the answer, ask away. The wood wick question gets asked at least once a week.....so you will find lots of information/opinions regarding them.

  2. Am I Confused? Or y'all ordered ones that weren't on sale? I thought only the ones on the list were on sale - right? I really wanted so many more, but just couldn't buy without getting some type of discount.....I am so cheap! I ordered the Vanilla Plum, Catalpa, Halloween Spice, Winter, and Black Currant. Anyone have any comparison between Solas Black Currant and Day Star Black Berry Jam? Guess I will in a couple of days! Been wanting to try Solas for a while now - this was a good sale....just wished I could have gotten all the others I was looking at.....Next time.................

  3. Havent tested them yet, but Casaba Mist and Wild Mt Honey are really good.

If you haven't tested them yet, how can you say they are 'really good'? While I have not been disappointed with any of Peaks fo's, I really find it very strange that you can state they are good without benefit of first trying them. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  4. What wax do you use that you get such great scent throw? I use J50 and have not been successful with Just Scent. I find that C&S is hit and miss and so far have been using connies candles but I would like to expand my horizons.

While the wax does have alot to do with the scent throw, the supplier of the fo is also important. Do a search here and you will find lots of suppliers and opinions of those suppliers. Buy sample packs - that will give you a chance to try many different scents while determining if they work for you. All suppliers are going to be 'hit or miss' for you - it will be very difficult to find just one supplier for all your fragrance needs/wants.

  5. I use container wax for tea lites....and just buy the wicks for tea lites - don't know if I have ever seen a size....sounds like the CD3's are popular. I wait until the wax has cooled slightly then slide the wicks in. Alot of folks like to hot glue their wicks but I find they don't move even when down at the bottom of the tea light container - both metal and clear plastic.

  6. You could buy wax at HL or Michaels (use the 40% off coupon)....But for fo or wicks or coloring, I would not go thru them......Shipping is expensive but you will figure out (eventually) which suppliers have great products and are close to you. Shipping is just part of it unless you are very lucky to have a supplier close to you (and most of us don't!)

  7. I don't think I would want to burn them at shows if they aren't burning correctly....and the wick wouldn't be clogged up if the wax has never burned. ....How do you know this is the only one not burning correctly? If I had one candle out of a batch that was not burning correctly, I would have to assume none of them would burn correctly. I do believe I am confused so I am not sure why I am even posting to this...

  8. Hey thanks so much you two.

You are in Norman? I just moved to Norman actually. I got some stuff from Hobby Lobby today to try to start "practicing".

Save your $$ and buy from on-line suppliers - most of the stuff (with the exception of wax) you will find very expensive from HL and Michaels and the quality is not good.....Spend some time here reading some of the back posts and you will end up with lots of good places!

  9. Well I don't know if you are referring to my post but it wasn't intended to make him feel stupid - although I thought it a bit obtuse for him to worry about dying and he is here posting on a message board.....As someone else said, we are not educated nor should we be giving medical advice - he was concerned about dying, I stand by telling him he should go to the ER NOW. Ya know Carrie, you should really stop 'thinking' you know what others are thinking and stick to what you (think) you know.

  10. Welcome to CT. Just wondering if you have 'mastered' the search function of the board yet? There have been lots of posts on how to do rustics. And while you are reading thru the posts on rustics you may find lots of information on things you didn't even know to ask about. Also over on the left side of the board there is a 'Techniques and Ideas' section which may have some directions that would be helpful for you. Have fun!

  11. The Tropical Tuberose is strong - but I love it for a floral scent in candles!! Great in BnB and only need just a little bit!!

I am not sure if I can recall a Peaks scent that didn't throw well - there are a couple I don't personally care for but they throw like crazy!!
