So I was just instructed by this group that the best (and most natural smelling) way to scent the wax is to simply use essential oils (EO).
My next questions is around proportions: does any have a good formula for Wax-to-oil ratio to make sure the scent is not too overwhelming, yet also present?
Are there any other considerations I'm missing?

@Shari @CandleRush - thank you for your advice! I'll go ahead and just purchase the EO in that case.

@Shari - thanks for clarifying!
Do you know of any good resources for steam or chemically extracting?

Hey Everybody, I'm new on here as well but just starting off in my side-business so wanted to ask the veterans for advice.
Lavender seems to be the overwhelming fan-favorite as far as scents. Is making the fragrance oil really as simple to make as this video shows?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMhKAlJE8mY
I want to make sure that if I invest that kind of time it can be used in candle making, and not just for soaps, baths, massage oil, etc.
Also, and advice on which oil is best used to extract the scents (almond, coconut, olive, etc) would be greatly appreciated as well.
Thanks,
Evan

Good to know Everybody. I took your advice and went with FO's instead of EO's. Cheaper too ($20 per 100ml)
That said, still a little blind to the amount of FO to put into my melted wax. Any tips there?
Just trying to find that sweet spot where the fragrance is recognizable, yet not overbearing.
