I got the exact same email yesterday. I don't give samples of any of my products, and I don't reply to any emails asking for them either.

I bought the 9.99 one from Harbor last year and its almost on its last leg. The switch broke about 2 months after I bought and it only worked on the low setting...which was fine. Now I turn it on and sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. There's something rattling around in there too.
You get what you pay for.

I think I'm going to be able to go..DH and I are talking about holding off on our vacation till August. So I think I better go register.
-
Oh what a mess, I feel like I have stuck my foot in my mouth. It hate it when there are two different stories, I knew there were two different things because I got the postcard and I was confused after seeing the adverts for the business one then actually seeing the other one.
Glowlite--that is the site. I hope that isn't going to cause a big division at the gathering this year--I found most of those ladies and gents to be hilarious. Good group of people.
I hope it doesn't either and they are such great people there...but you know what?....I had to intention of going to the summit thing at all I kept going to that site and waiting for info about the gathering in Scottsdale, I figured once the summit was over then info about the other gathering would be up and then I could register for that. If this thread never got started and you never mentioned that they spit I would have continued to think they where the one that is throwing the event in scottdsale. I wonder how many other people think that too?

Yup, confusing. Two completely separate events. The lady who is doing the business (Summit) one is the one last year who gave a spiel on packaging your items (actually, the ideas she had were good, but her whole "theme" was a bit confusing...she kept talking about "making your coconuts pop".) LOL. Glowlite...let us know if you're going
D
OMG I totally forgot about the coconut thing. LOL
soooo she's the one huh?

I emailed the az gathering to see if they were related and she said no.
Amanda….
No…Most definitely not. That is the original Arizona Gathering web addy. When she was told her services as Web Designer were no longer needed, she refused to give the Gathering Committee the domain and is now using it for profit.
The Official Arizona Gathering web addy is:
Sincerely,
The Arizona Gathering Committee
Thanks for clarifying that. I didn't know any of this. All this time I was going to that website and wondering what hell was going on and why the gathering was focusing on this summit thing. I'm just a tad pissed about it...I feel decieved:mad: After re-reading Di's post it make sense now.
-
This is the link to The Summit http://www.azgathering.com/Summit/index.htm
I'm not sure if this is what Di was refering to or not
-
I think that the other one focuses only on the business end. The post card and emails I received talk about setting up and running a business.
I'm still not sure whether I can go yet. :undecided

I placed an order with them on the 3rd of April and after not receiving my package or hearing anything from them I sent a few emails that have yet to be answered.
I just checked my paypal acct and the money has not been taken out...so darn. Now I have to find my stuff elsewhere.

I love bath tea's I buy the teas from wsp and pacakge them in those heat seal bags. The tea alone smells great but you don't get much aroma from it once its in the tub so I add some eo to em. I like the idea about the tea ball.
Like I said I really like them and use them once a week but customers aren't really buying them. I've had them on the shelf now for about 2 months and only sold 6 bags.

All of your soaps are beautiful. The first one reminds me of the suzie Q snack cakes..
-
Your product line looks fantastic. I really like that silver bow around the top.
-
Don't add alcohol to it. You may want to try adding some mineral oil though.
-
I offer alot sizes and shapes..and like scented said they normally go for the smaller ones. 3x3 round and 3x4 square are my biggest sellers with 4x6 in second place. I love all the different shapes and styles but people just aren't buying them.

I get a better rustic appearance in aluminum than I do tin. I notice that with the tin I get some smooth areas..its hard to explain and I wish I had a pic to show what I'm talking about.

Use tax is paid on items that you buy for your business and then use for your personal use or really anything that you aren't going to resell. So say you buy a desk and don't pay taxes on it when you purchase it. You're not going to resell the desk, your using it for your business. Your state will require you to pay a use tax on it.

Call thier customer service. They'll let you know what the current codes are.

I don't cure intentionally, but I make enough over stock that gets boxed up and sits in my store room. I still don't notice a difference between a candle made today and one pulled from the box thats been there for 3 weeks.
-
They look great! I love the swirls on the Green Irish Tweed
-
I use their t-lite and votive boxes. They're acetate.

If this for your retail store I would highly recomend getting the phone line. How else are you going to do credit or debit charges? If you get a business line you are listed in the phone book. If you don't want to go this route then you can pay to have your cell listed in the phone book.

Heres how I started. I made enough to fully stock my displays. Then made sure I had at least double that for my original stock in my stock room. When I started pulling from that last stock box..Thats when I would make more. If I opened the last box of Island tropic. I would make a complete new set of all the candles that are in that scent. A full set of one scent for me is 45 differents candles I only have 25 scents in my main line.
I do pretty much the same thing for my B&B but that line is much smaller I only offer 5 main scents
-
B&B is a great seller for summer when you push the beach or pools themes. I also am starting to sell alot of home decor accents...garden type stuff too.

I'm really late this year getting my fall line in order. I haven't been able to come up with anything new...so I skipped right to winter. I have almost everything ordered and some stuff already poured..I guess this week I need to get my ass in gear and get that fall fo ordered huh?

I got a gold color one time on accident using a liquid Ivory color, Since it was my f-up that caused it don't know the amount of usage. But it might be a good place to start.
