well, isn't there a certain way to make them? everyone does it differently. just wanted to make sure i'm doing it right.
-
i just wanted to see how others do it, no need to get pissed about it.
-
but how do you all make an 8oz. jj soy candle?
-
the same here
-
I think snowtop sells them
-
i use the little dixie cups, then i through them away
-
yes, thats where i got them, so, the medium one to try?
-
the place I got my wicks said small, medium, and large.
-
would you use in an 8oz. jj with 100% soy? Medium or large?
-
evergreen pine from snowtop. awesome
-
should say down not under.
-
It takes forever to get a melt pool side to side and under. Should i still wick down?
-
Definitely could be the large wick causing it. I use ECO wicks and mine smell just fine, so it's probably not just a wick source issue.
how much soy and fo do you add to make an half pint jar?
-
it must have been the first burn, cause i'm burning it now, and it doesnt have burnt smell.
-
I am not sure, but I think alot of it depends on the science side of it (adding fo at the right temp, right pour temp, and the strength of the FO)
I am a soy user so I have nothing to compare it to, but I know pour temp and the temp for adding FO is crutical to the scent throw; and curing as well...
HTH!:highfive:
what temp do you add fo at?
-
how did you fasten your wick to the bottom of the jar?

I was out of my regular soy so, I got soy from a local company. I made an 8oz. candle 7.25oz. soy with 3/4oz. fo,christmas splendor. heated to 175 and added fo at 175. good smell is good, but burning it is another thing. It stinks. I made it 11-2-06. I'm burning another one with her soy and it stinks also. I made that one 10-28-06. why do they stink?

fo and soy wax?
Hi, I'm trying to make a 16oz. mason jar, but, it only holds 13oz. soy. If i melt 12oz. soy and 1oz. fo. with an HTP 1312, do you think it will work?

i use 100% soy.I'm trying to wick a 16oz. mason jar using orange chiffon cake.(its a thick fo) I have tried 14.5oz. soy, 1 1/2oz. fo and HTP 1312, 16oz. soy and 1oz. fo and HTP 1312, and 16oz. soy 1 1/2oz. fo and HTP 1212. None of them burn all the way side to side and they are about 1/8 - 1/4 deep. I burn them for about 3 hours at a time unless the jar gets hots. What else should I do?

To make a 16oz. jar which only holds 14oz. soy and fo, do you use 14.50 soy and 1.50oz. fo OR do you use 12.75 soy and 1.25oz. fo? which one is the better?
