  2. I bought out all of the Golden Harvest Jars in my area and all surrounding areas. All of the Wal Marts, Big Lots and Dollar Generals too. I've traveled 50 miles in all directions and there are none. Wal Mart will NOT order them in for me Nor will Big lots!:angry2: Flower Factory is out too!!

Where can I get these jars? I am thinking I'll have to pay shipping!:angry2:

Filmore Glass doesn't carry them They carry the Ball jars and I can't use my labels on them!:tongue2:

  3. Thanks for the replies....guess I will just have to experiment  ......I will eventually find a wax supplier that is close to California or be stuck still ordering from PA and paying a gazillion dollars in shipping. Luckily I am in a tourist area and everything is already overpriced here (smile).....Donita[/QUOT

  4. I have been having trouble making votive for awhile now. Sometimes when I make votive they turn out great other times not so good! Yesterday I used mp140 1tbsp of universal additive 1.5 oz of FO per pound. Poured at 185 into heated votive molds. Pulled out the votives I scented coconut and white spots was threw out the votive. Then I pulled out the ones I scented butterscotch and they had tiny pin holes everywhere. I remelted them and re poured the same way as listed above and they turned out great. Why is when I remelt and pour again they turn out great? Thanks so much for any help on this matter!

*I wish I had a digital camera I would have shown you all what they looked like before I re poured them again!

have you tryed only useing 1oz fo to 1 pound????try pouring at 170 and dont heat your molds.

  5. Hi Everyone! So I know this wick question is pretty redundant and after tons of researching, I've decided to ask for some different opinions!

I have a wide round jar w/ a 3 1/2" diameter opening; the body is closer to 4" diameter; and 3 1/2" tall. When I got these containers, the store owner said to triple wick with 44-20-18z. (btw, using 4630 wax) However, after testing with these wicks, I've noticed that the candle is def over-wicked! (thanks to all the wonderful expertise advice on this forum!!:highfive: ) The melt pool is too large and too deep w/in such a short period of time! So I know I need to wick down... does anyone have any advice using a container similar to this one whether to use two smaller wicks or one larger wick? I've also come across the wick charts, but they only help to a certain extent.

Thanks so much!! Everyone has been such a big help already in my research!! :D

hi well i use the same wax iga 4630 and the jar is 16oz and about the same size you have. and i use two 44-24-18z you might want to try this size..

  6. Hi all,

I am planning on making a second bedroom in my home my candle work area. I am concerned, however, about getting wax onto the carpet. So I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on what I could use to cover the floors. I thought about a vinyl floor mat, like the ones used for office chairs so that they roll easily, but obviously that wouldn't be big enough.

I know I can't be the first person to try to work on top of a carpeted space, so just wondering what others have done. Thanx.

go to harbor fright and get one of those big blue tarps to cover the floor and there are cheap.
