  1. I am just looking right now. I was thinking if I could make a trip (200 miles) and stock up on a bunch of heavier things (wax, jars) then it would save me a bundle in shipping fees. Thanks
  2. Has anyone ever tried their scents? It is the closest supplier to me. Thanks for any reviews.
  3. Testing new wax in the 2 different jars I have. Finally got some decent wax to play with so my DIL & I are going to be busy this weekend.
  4. No cats here, just 3 pups and they aren't litter trained. I am going to end up getting the plastic totes from Wal Mart and using them for wax storage right now. Thanks for the ideas on storage.
  5. I like the web site. I would really be interested to know if you have the Army ranks yet?
  6. Forgot to mention I have 2 presto pots. Started with one then upped it to two. Those babies are soooo nice to use. I would love to find a turkey fryer when I have a little more space and am doing this on a larger scale. My idea is to start up a business witht his after all the proper testing and all. Just from the few batches I have made so far, I know which ones will only go on my candle warmer. Editied to add: I have found that ordering a lagrer amount of supplies is easier on the pocket book. LOL
  7. Wowsers!!! That is awesome!! I love it. That would look soooooo good in my living room.
  8. Thought I was wierd in wanting to have cases of supplies. I live in a double wide 4 bedroom mobile home with one son. He has2 of the bedrooms and a friend just back from Iraq is staying in the extra room. I have a 14x16 storage room that I plan on storing my wax in when it comes in. In the near future I will either clean that room out for candle making since it is already with electrical ect or build another room just for my candle making. I think I am going to out grow my kitchen real fast. LOL
  9. OOOooo nice. Hmmmmm a different wax to over. LOL Me thinks I better try and control myself or I will have so many types of wax around here I wont know what to do with it all. LOL
  10. I also put in a request for a sample. I am excited to try this wax out. Thanks for the offer.
  11. My main question for everyone is: How many supplies do you keep on hand? Wax: how many ponds and how many differnet types? FO's: any limit to how many you have and keep? Wicks: same as above Containers: same as above Color chips/blocks: Which do you use and how many colors do you keep And any other supplies I missed (and I know I missed something. LOL)
  12. I started out thinking I would be ok with a tote with a lid. yeah right. I went and bought a portable cabinet and set it up in my dinning room. I has shelves in it. I also bout small tote for my wicks, FO's and colors to keep them seperated. My question for everyone is where and how do you store your wax, and how much wax do you have on hand?
  13. Wow!!!!!! I like that one. The colors are so striking against one another. I can't wait until I try to use my molds and different colors together.
  14. I was playing with the paraffin from Hobby Lobby until I got my wax shipment in. Well it came in yesterday and I have to say, Oh My!!! What a difference. I bought a container blend from thecandlesource and when I got home and found out it was here, I had to pour one in each type jar I have. Oh baby, that was some smooth wax. I can't wait until a different type wax comes in too.
  15. I am still very new to this and the fars I use are 3" across. I use extra large clothes pins and run the wick up through the hole in it and then clip the extra part of the wick into the "teeth" of the pin. So far that has worked best for me. I know what I try pillars at a later date, I will have to figure something else out though.
  16. Hello everyone. I am Melinda from Mississippi. My DIL & I are starting making candles. We are using what wax & accessories we found at a local Hobby store near us. I have different waxes ordered. I know I am excited to be a part of such a knowledgeable group of ladies & gentlemen. Right now we are doing container candles (wrong wax I know) and actually having pretty good luck with our burn testing. I have been lurking for a couple of weeks now and have learned quite a bit from all the posts I have read. Look forward to learning & sharing with everyone. Melinda
