  1. I'm doing Sugared Spruce, Christmas Splendor, Christmas Past, Balsam & Citrus, Peppermint Bark, Spiced Oranges, Peppermint Stick, Country Christmas and going to do a trial run with eggnog to see how it goes over. I also have one scent that was discontinued but the supplier did a special order for me since I have sold it well before it was disco'd.

  2. I will use Labels by the Sheet only in an emergency and then never on clear labels. Labels by the Sheet sent me matte that they called crystal clear and vice versa. Then when questioned just said they had changed manufacturers. It got to the point that I didn't know if I was supposed to clear or matte clear because they either "changed manufacturers" every few months or just sent what they wanted and never once offered any compensation even after repeated emails and phone calls. It got ridiculous.

I order from Online Labels now and have not had a problem in 2 yrs (knock on wood) I use rounds, address size and squares and have never had a problem with theirs. Planet Label sent me the kind that curled no matter what and then the ends wouldn't stick onto the jar.

    Good luck

  3. I pour them about 3/4 full on the first pass using a 9oz solo cup. Then I squat down eye level with the tops and pour to the top. It takes a while to learn the last drop that the clamshell will hold and when the next drop will overflow and I do keep a pipette handy in case I need to suck out a bit quick. To clean up any rough edges try a kleenex. It cleans the container totally clean.

  4. I always just laugh when people tell me the latest Scentsy tactics. I use a Scentsy warmer at home and can personally attest to the fact that the tarts melt just like they do in any of my other warmers - that's the one I hear most often at a show. The melt vs candle thing is spouted by some non-Scentsys who specialize in tarts only also. I guess some twist it however they can to gain an advantage but I think most customers realize that's crap.

I almost saw a Scentsy cat-fight the other day-lol. The show I was setting up in had 2 Scentsy dealers in it. They were both adament that the other had to leave and wanted to organizer to look up who applied first and kick the other out. The organizer didn't care and said stay or leave, it doesn't matter to me and offered to refund the one who left. They both stayed. The organizer said it would be easier to leave Scentsy out entirely next time than to have to keep track of their "rules". Sounds good to me!

  5. Are you sure she didn't just post it on her page and since you are friends with her it shows up on your page? When my friend's post on their page it always shows up on my page in my newsfeed. I either change it so a friend's stuff doesn't ever show up (if it's a candle person) or patrol it very carefully if we post other stuff that I do want to see and just delete the candle references.

  6. I made colored candles for 5 yrs before dropping the color. I had some frosting issues and was constantly trying to touch them up to look better (worked most the time but sooo time consuming). Plus they developed frosting once they were in stores for a while. I decided to test it and set up at a show with my holiday scents in color and natural side-by-side and we made a bet which would sell out as hub said color - he cooked dinner that night! We sold out of all the natural and about 2 colored within the first hours of the show. That was all it took, I dropped the color from that point on.

I have never had a website order asking for color and I do offer that option, and I have never had a single request at a show for color. And I sure can complete an order quicker without worrying about color recipes and frosting.

To showcase my display "dull" candles :P I just changed up my display a bit. All dark tablecloths and pipe/drape with touches of color (huge vase of bright flowers or a lit Christmas tree in the corner or holly garlands around the shelving).

Maybe it's a fluke but it works for me and this is our 5th year without the color. So I say, do what works for you.

  7. I have to say that I seriously never thought I would get involved in this since I wasn't hit in any of the previous waves BUT logged into my bank account like I do every morning and evening and found 8 bogus charges to Amazon EU and Amazon EU SARL that are pending on the account today. I have NEVER used this card at Amazon nor is it on my account with Amazon. I HAVE used it just one time in the last 3 months - at Fillmore. The only other things that come out are monthly drafts for credit card machine and website and they both run off of my business checking account, not my business debit card. I am very hesitant to order online again unless I use a prepaid visa card or pay through paypal since I have the verification code sent to my phone whenever I use paypal. Thank God my bank has 24/7 tellers online so they cancelled my debit and are issuing a new one and the $900 check I just sent out for the 2nd half of a booth fee will run through with no issues. Thieves suck!

  8. My billing address is a PO Box and I have my orders shipped to my physical address. All I do is uncheck the box for shipping to same addy as billing and fill in my billing addy and no problems anywhere, Lone Star included.

The trick is not to forget to use that billing addy as most order systems will authorize and kick back for address not matching but can leave that authorization on there a while. It is sure annoying when I forget but I just saved it to my account at LS and now the only thing I forget to to enter my shipping address every now and then. Thank God they have always been nice when they called to see where to ship it!

  9. I guess I"m in the middle of lilac season right now and will stick with KY for this year and start getting samples as I place orders. I think I might go broke with all these recommendations though! I think I'm going to try to add a little Ocean to it and see how it smells too. Like a Lilac Breeze

  10. I should add that I changed out of a need to streamline production more. I am way to anal about how the candles look when the leave my hands and the frosting, colors being slightly off from batch to batch or due to the color of the oil drove me nuts. By going natural I no longer obsess about those things.
