I know.....its funny the things you think are good are actually bad.

You can get Grapeseed oil form any soap supplier. I think Canwax carries some soap supplies. If I remember in an earlier post someone in Richmond Hill who supplies, if not then New Directions (Brampton) is the place! Awesome stuff. Already made up massage oils lotions and potions.....LOL

It clogs your pores. Its actually drying to the skin. I found a little blurb when I was searching on scrubs and one had called for mineral oil. I showed this recipe to a friend of mine who has been soaping and making B&B for many years....she informed about the mineral oil and I was almost certain that commercial baby oil had mineral oil in it.

what about baby oil with FO added to it... thats what I like to use... its super moisturizing and not too oilly when its sunk in... just a thought

Are you talking about commercial Baby Oil? If it's not a food grade oil then I wouldn't use it for massage purpose's. Most baby oil's are petroleum/mineral oils which is not good for your skin.

Most massage oils use carrier oils like Grapeseed oil and Wheatgerm. I also suggest a course in aromatherapy if he plans on mixing his own blends. There are some very dangerous oils out there and should not be handle by just anybody.

It seems that lately these wicks have been mention often and how well they perform in soy / soy blend waxes.

I have searched the net and the only places I find to purchase is from the manufacturer and the min is 1,000.....I would like some samples if anybody knows a supplier that offers these in smaller quantities.

Oh no it's very easy to cut.....you will get sticky fingers though:grin2:

It is a sticky wax and it cuts like butter. You measure the same way you would with Ez Soy. It comes in 10 pound slabs but for 4 lbs Brenda will cut it up, probably send it in one pound baggies.

To get the mixing directions I printed out a copy from the GL site and just highlighted the temperatures.

I freeze my milk in an ice cube tray. Then I pop them out, measure how much I need then I add my lye to it. Constantly mixing as I pour.

Some people add the milk at trace but I haven't tried that yet.

I never have any probelms with goats milk and honey. Freeze the milk and add the fresh honey at trace. Just make sure you mix the honey well cause it is thick.

Never used buttermilk.

Have you tried HTP 105? I'm testing a 8oz metro with El Soy Mill using HTP 105. This is going to be my 3rd burn and its leaving a smidge of residue but hope it will catch up soon.

I've used the Tibetan Black Tea from http://www.bittercreek.net/ in Eco CBA and its very strong. I think it should be even better in your EL. Very "botique" type scent.

Can you explain what it smells like? Maybe someone can help if you describe the scent.

I love this wax and have never seen this, was it cold when you burned it?

I let it sit for a day in the kitchen which is the coldest part of my home and it has been a bit chilly lately. .......so I guess maybe it has to do with it being cooled down too fast?

I'm going to try another batch with different combo and see if it happens again.

I really like this wax also. The scent throw is great and fairly easy to work with.

How hot was it when you poured it? Did you add anything else to it? (Besides fo, wax, and color?)

I added the colour and fragrance in at 175 then poured after stirring for about a 1 minute....maybe it cold down too fast?

I make votives with the same wax and none turn out this way. Maybe its the colour and oil combo. If you seen it in person, you can see the humps in it....its not flat and this is the freaky part of it....LOL

I normally make soy candles and thought that I would give paraffin a try. This is my first container candle and I must say it looks disgusting. I can't even look at it, its freakin me out!!! LOL Is this normal with paraffin?

I used IGI 4786 with 1.2 oz pp Clean Cotton

I have been testing some oils.....pretty good so far. The ones that I love and have re ordered:

Tibetan Black Tea--very upscale scent

Enchanted Forest--love this one

So far all work well in El Soy Mill wax. The only one I tested and was not strong enough for me was Alaskan Wilderness.

I'm testing Oakmoss and Sage very nice and I tested Essence of Bethlehem very nice scent BUT a bugger to wick.

The one thing I really like about the oils are they are complex and very upscale. No cheapy smells!

just noticed now after typing in my results that you are looking for B&B results.....if you make candles these are great haven't soaped any yet.

Many have the handling built into shipping some are more upfront about it. There's one I wouldn't deal with due to the outrageous charges to Canada.......$17.10US USPS for 2- 4 ounce bottle, meanwhile I can order two from another supplier and they charge me $6.00US at the most. Talk about a profit.
