  1. This is a really really dumb question but when using this calculator say your doing 8% fragrance load, you would put 8 in the top box but what goes in the other box? Whatever weight your going to be using? Say I was going to do 16oz of wax, would I put 16 in that box?
  2. So I'm doing some research looking at waxes for making para-soy tarts. I have a bunch of preblended that I'm going to be testing but I also wanted to try blending some of my own. When I was looking at different ones I came across the 4826 which said it was a "specialty wax with a 140 congeal point better suited for warm climates vs lower melt point chip waxes" what does that mean? And what is a congeal point?
  3. So I melted a wax tart the other night and when it was melted it had this beautiful shimmery almost glitter pearlized look to it. So what do you add to the wax to give it that look, micas?
  4. OK thanks! Ill definitely go check them out and get a couple different ones and just plat around until I find one that best works for what I want. Thank you guys so much for all your help!!
  5. Thats what I didn't think it would be very big inconsistency's, if at all, but the vendor I was talking to made it sound like you could be getting totally different results every time you used a preblended one. And I just looked back and saw I kept saying my parasoy tart and votive blend, good old auto correct kept changing it from ky lol. But thank you guys so much, definitely alot of help!!
  6. Which one did it blend best with? I'm looking for a softer wax to make my tarts and chunks, but not too soft
  7. That makes sense, do most distributors sell wax in small like 5 lb bags, so I can buy a couple different ones to test out? Most of the ones I've say so far the smallest they sell is 10lb. I've seen one or 2 sell 5lbs but that's about it. And I was going to start out with the my parasoy tart & votive blend but when I was talking to somebody they mentioned it probably wouldn't be wise to use something already blended by a distributor because you don't know the ratios and if they use the exact same ratio every time, therefore probably not getting the same consistency in my wax everytime
  8. So I did a little more research and think I'm gonna start out using IGI 4625 paraffin with GW 464 soy container wax, maybe like a 60/40 ratio. 60 being the GW 464 and the 40% being the IGI 4625. Does that sound like something that would give me a softer wax but still have great ht and last a pretty decent time?

  10. Hey everybody! I'm new here and sooo happy I found this page! I'm a SAHM that loves wax and would absolutely love to start making my own to bring in some extra money. I've been doing lots of research but it seems every where I go they all tell you something different so maybe you guys can help! I'm looking for a parasoy blend but prefer a softer wax for my tarts and chunks. I was going to go with the my parasoy votive & tart blend but I would really like to make a blend of my own that way I know exactly the measurements I'm using of each paraffin and soy and that way I always have the same consistency in my blend. So my question is could you guys recommend some good wax to use that I could make an awesome parasoy blend with that is on the softer side, which I'm guessing the soy wax would be more then the paraffin cuz from what I understand soy is softer?
  11. This is my first time posting and just realized I totally did it wrong, sorry!
