  1. Four-tenths (4/10) is equal to Two-fifths (2/5) because you can reduce the fraction by dividing the numerator(the upper number) and denominator(the lower number) by two.

    So

    4 divided by 2 is 2

    10 divided by 2 is 5

so 4/10 is equal to 2/5

Just like a quarter dollar (25cents/100cents) can be divided by 25 and make 1/4 (hence the quarter).

    Not sure if that helps!

  2. I got the Maduro and made it for my SIL as she loves the Archipelago Candle that it is duped from. She absolutely loved this and thought it was a dead on duplicate. Her teenage daughters liked it "more" than the original but they're biased :) Awesome cold and hot throw. A "masculine" FO to me, but I know lots of ladies that buy it too. Thanks to Brenda for insuring my SIL will always buy her stuff from me!

I smelled the archipelago candle in Havana yesterday. I thought I would not like it but I was pleasantly surprised that I did. I need to try this oil and the indonesian teakwood.

Oh, lordy, my list keeps getting longer and longer!

  3. I used dye block (all I had was shrimp which is a light pink and I added some red to it to make it more dark pink).

When I pulled it out of the votive mold, my DD asked why is the candle "crap colored" if it is pink sugar. Gotta love the kiddies! (She just had her 16th birthday on Friday).

Maybe it was the dye block vs liquid. I know that it has a lot of vanilla in it so it can turn. I think someone here made some pink sugar votives that were brown but she topped them off with a pink top with no FO and they looked really nice.

Will have to try again to see what I get.

  4. Dealing with the ceiling fan (I don't have one so I can't relate) I would be more concerned with soot and actually burning of the candle. If my wick is the slightest bit too long and I get a draft, I get soot.

Being the scientist that I am, I wonder if you have the fan with the blades turning so the air pushes down (you might have scent pushing down toward the ground) I wonder if you got down lower than the candle if you would smell it there? Or, if you have the blades turning the other way, that it is sucking it out of the room and the scent is up by the ceiling?

I would just turn off the fan.
