  1. Yes I was pouring candles in my pj's that my husband bought me a Victoria's Secret. Yes I had my 4 year old running around distracting me. Yes my hand slipped and guess where the wax went. You guess it, on the pj's.And the counter And the floor. I guess wax drip is an understatement!
  2. Thanks! I will burn it a couple more times and see what it does. I don't want the sides to blow out.
  3. I have burned this one for @2 1/2 hours. It is a 3" square pillar. I just got this mold and have not burned a square yet and didn't know how it's supposed to do. It is Peaks preblend mp145 with a 24ply flat braid wick. Scented pomegranate.
  4. Talked to Candle Science today. They are sending me another slab of 4625 today! Great Customer Service.
  5. ok, so I look this straight parrafin stuff up to see what I got and it says that 1343 only holds 3% Fo or 1/2oz right? Is that why what I made with 1oz was sweating like someone runnin' like they stole something?
  6. I got it from Candle Science in North Carolina. That was the closest place I could find to me with reasonable shipping. Glad I only ordered 1 slab. How can I make this stuff make a rustic candle? Or anything else for that matter?
  7. I didn't think it looked like 4625. Not like anything that I've seen on here anyway. I e-mailed the place I got it from, still waiting to see what they have to say.
  8. What in the world have I done? They were both made with the IGI 4625, 1oz of FO, the yellow is Fruit Slices and the Ivory/Tan is Vanilla Hazlenut. Heated to 190 to add FO, poured at 145 for a rustic look (I was hoping anyway) and got this. Is the yellow mottled? From what I have read, this wax would not do that. Is this supposed to happen or did I get the wrong wax? PLEASE HELP!:undecided
  9. Thanks for all the repllies! They help alot:cheesy2:
  10. Top, I bought the candle from a girl that makes them. She let someone I used to work with come into her shop and she told me that her molds are smooth on the inside so I really don't know how she does it. They are in fact pitted, there is nothing protruding from them and they have some frosting on them. That's why I thought that they were the rustics that everyone talks about. Maybe not.
  11. What exactly is Kitty's technique? I have looked and looked and I just can't find it anywhere.
  12. I was wondering how she got that texture! I don't think there are many rockslides in Mississippi though, maybe she rolled it down a gravel road:smiley2:
  13. Thanks! I had looked at alot of Rustic pics and all the ones I found were layered and I couldn't really get a good look at the texture on them. What temps do you pour art? I was going to order some 4625 and play with it to see if I like how it turns out.
  14. I would like to make some like this but I don't know what kind of wax, additives etc. to use. Is it the Rustic type that everyone talks about? Any input would be helpful! Thanks! Hope you can see the pic.
  15. a supplier near Atlanta. :undecided I am new to all this and was wondering if there were any places close that I can get my stuff from. I don't want to pay the outrageous shipping costs of some of the places I have looked at. Any info would be helpful! Thanks
  16. Thank you so much! I think I will try some:)
  17. I was wondering if anyone could give me any input on TCS Scents? They seem to have good prices on their FO and didn't know if it was too good to be true.
  18. Don't worry, I am. I don't want to burn anyone's house down!
  19. Thanks so much for your input! I will be getting my wax next week sometime. I can't wait to play with it. I will put some pics up. Maybe it won't be too hard to make some candles good enough to give my friends at least!
  20. Hey! I'm a new one! I was wondering if anyone has used the Peak pre-blended pillar wax mp145? I am new to making candles and ordered some and I was wondering what kinds of candles you could make with it. I fiqured if anyone could answer my questions, one of you could. Everyone seems to be very knowledgeable here! Thanks!
