  1. What do you mean by nasty? Did it turn out too sweet? or the taste is just not right at all? I am thinking of making mine into simple honey taste. Would appreciate the experience you had...thanks
  2. I just figured the FO must stand for Flavor Oils not Fragrance Oils. How silly of me! Is it possible to get flavor oils from regular bulk barn? I am from Canada and it's a bit expensive to purchase from the US online sites (shiping charge) so I try to avoid if I can.
  3. Thanks for the recipe but gosh, now there is another item on my to-do list! I just came here as a beginner in M&P soap and now there are so many different things I want to try Michelle, I have very dry lips, do you think would the base be moisted enough? (I will probably try it regardless!) Also, a question for the FO, can I just add any kind of FO that I normally use for my soap? Thanks for your help!!
  4. I just got my first batch of bath melts done! They just make the kitchen smell so lovely! I didn't get any mini muffin/tart liner today because there were just too many people lining up everywhere (for Christmas shopping). So I ended up using an ice-cube tray for my melt. To be safe, I have greased the tray a bit before I pour the mixture in. After putting in the freezer for 20 mins, the batch seems done but I had a tough time trying to get the melts out of the tray. So I sticked it back to the freezer for another 10 mins. They come out quite nicely after a few wiggle here and there. I had one defected melt, the bottom part got stuck in the tray and it looked a bit frosty on the part where it break up. I am guessing it's because I didn't mix in the citric acid well enough (although I did stir like crazy). A quick question, when you wait for the pot to cool down (before mixing in the citric acid), do you just leave it there to cool or do you keep stirring the mixture? I found that I was stirring it continuosly because I found some residues were starting to form at the bottom of the pot. Thanks for sharing this recipe again! I never thought I could make my own bath melts!!
  5. Thanks for the tips Bunny! I just got some cocoa butter today and I will try to make my first batch of melts tonight! Very exciting!!
  6. I recently took a soap making workshop and learned how to make bath bombs. They seemed quite easy so I wanted to make some as Christmas presents for my friends. After doing some research on the internet, I realize not many receipes uses epsom salt. The recipe i have is 3 parts baking soda, 2 parts epsom salts and 2 parts citric acid. Is this a good ratio? I just want to make sure I don't use too much epsom salts. Does anyone has the tips on what ratio to get the best result of the bomb staying firm? Thanks a lot for your help.
  7. Thank you for the recipe Bunny. I am very new into soap making and can't wait to give this a try this weekend. I can already imagine using these babies in the bath Just a question, is it possible just add in other coloring (instead of coco powder) and fragrances to make different melts? Thanks for your help
