  1. Lori, I like your pillar. Know what you mean about the colors. It was hard for me to visualize how they would look after the pillar was finished. I put drops on a white plate but it is so hard to see how the colors will contrast that way. Next effort I'm going to try for more light colored wax,

Thanks Sharyl. :) It was hard to visualize exactly, and I had the same thought as you - lighter colors with less contrast next time. I didn’t have as much frosting as I thought I should either (my mold is seamless aluminum too). Maybe I didn’t keep my mold cool enough... I kept a wet cloth wrapped around it, but it would heat up too.

After 100s of pillars, I sure hope mine look as good as judyvega's! :D

  2. Well... I almost hate to post my pictures after seeing the others - they're beautiful you guys!

I didn't get as much difference in the browns as I wanted; this is scented with Peak's French Vanilla & Amber. I smeared some of the color accidentally while pouring and got a few cracks and crevices here and there with not a whole lot of rustic. Overall, I'm okay with the way it turned out, and it was a really good learning experience.

Judyvega - great class even with all the technical difficulties! :)

    Here's my candle...

  3. Holy cow, it's frustrating trying to get in, isn't it? A day or two?? You can't wait a day or two to post! We want to see it NOW! lol

    Frustrating??? Very!!!

Now? When I can I do my final pour and unmold this thing... I thought it had to sit overnight before I could do my final pour? I'd love to pull it out right now! :)
