Nah, it doesn't have to sit overnight, it just needs to cool off enough that it slides out of the mold on it's own
Thank you! I wasn't able to see this post yesterday, but I sort of went on this assumption and it slid out later last night.

Well... I almost hate to post my pictures after seeing the others - they're beautiful you guys!
I didn't get as much difference in the browns as I wanted; this is scented with Peak's French Vanilla & Amber. I smeared some of the color accidentally while pouring and got a few cracks and crevices here and there with not a whole lot of rustic. Overall, I'm okay with the way it turned out, and it was a really good learning experience.
Judyvega - great class even with all the technical difficulties!
Here's my candle...

Holy cow, it's frustrating trying to get in, isn't it? A day or two?? You can't wait a day or two to post! We want to see it NOW! lol
Frustrating??? Very!!!
Now? When I can I do my final pour and unmold this thing... I thought it had to sit overnight before I could do my final pour? I'd love to pull it out right now!

I'm just now able to get back in here... jeesh!
Thanks again Judyvega! If my candle isn't too horrible looking, I'll post a picture here in a day or two. I can't wait to see how we all did - especially with our technical difficulties! It was fun in spite of that.

You're welcome. Don't forget, everyone, to post pics of your results later.
Is it best to post pictures here or the gallery?

It helped a LOT! Can't wait to unmold this creation of mine... I sure hope it looks good!

Let me just say thank you so much for this class (while I can get a post done, I hope!). I really appreciate you sharing your talent and time!
-
I'd like mine to look like judyvega's too - they're beautiful!
-
I turned my mold 180 dgs, poured a 2nd layer. Hope that's right...
I've also got a cool wet rag wrapped on the mold to keep it cool.

IT's a little unstable here too (site that is).
LOL! It's more than just the site here....
-
Glad to know it's not just me with the server!
Poked my bubbles - thanks Judy!
-
I've got some small air bubbles in the surface - poke them with a skewer? I'm also having a hard time with the site refreshing... keeps stalling out.
-
LOL - had me going for a minute there...
-
I'm here!
-
I think I'm ready too...

Getting ready here!

So glad that was what you were looking for!

Really, really beautiful!

This thread may be of help regarding rusty vegetable cans. The candle pictured in the thread is cute as can be!

I love these! I'm with the others - you ought to do a class on them!
-
Very cool! I really like that!

Thanks again everyone. You all have made my day!
Donita - had no idea that Vanilla Voodoo was in the Academy Award baskets! I just love it!
-
Beautiful - what an inspiration!
I'm looking forward to your class too - wish I could do it "live" but can't unfortunately. :undecided

Thanks Sharyl. It was hard to visualize exactly, and I had the same thought as you - lighter colors with less contrast next time. I didn’t have as much frosting as I thought I should either (my mold is seamless aluminum too). Maybe I didn’t keep my mold cool enough... I kept a wet cloth wrapped around it, but it would heat up too.
After 100s of pillars, I sure hope mine look as good as judyvega's!
