I don't know if you're interested in pre-added aloe, but FNWL has a M&P base with aloe already in it:

I just ordered samples of both their regular and top shelf fragrances which should arrive tomorrow (excited!!). I'm just having a hard time getting over the fact that their name sounds like the title of a dirty movie

I searched and didn't find much information about this wax. Does anyone use it? Pros/cons?
-
I have added a pic of the cut bars.

Hmmm...so, which part of that ingredient list constitutes the 90-some-odd-percent "moisturizing cream" they always advertise?
-
.... OR just use it for rustics..
Rusty rustics...LOL
-
My DH says there are solvents available to remove rust, but they leave a film behind. I don't know if this film would affect your candle. Hopefully someone else can chime in and help you. :undecided

It would be very difficult to get a consistent product by microwaving. Even slight temperature changes greatly affect soy.
Natural Candles, if I were you I would contact QVC and ask if they can ship either a crock pot or roaster to the Carribbean.

Awesome!! Thanks so much for sharing the results of your testing. I look forward to reading more tomorrow.

I have tried HTP's, ECO, and cotton core so far. The HTP's are leaving too much hangup on the side of the container opposite the "bend", and in all of them if I wick to get a fmp I get mushrooms. I've ordered sample kits of RRD's and LX's to try those out, wish me luck!

That chess set rocks!

Wintergreen, here's an idea you may want to consider. I've used a soy/veggie blend container wax, added 3% beeswax, and used 6% Beeswax and Honey FO from Sweetcakes. The end result: a container candle with that beautiful beeswax fragrance without the risks!
-
I have a sample of Bamboo Sugar Cane from Fragrance Oil Heaven. It smells great OOB but haven't used it in wax yet. It's a light, fresh fragrance.
-
Point taken.... can I blend it with anything else besides soy? Just curious! What are some favorite container waxes? THANKS!!!!!!!:smiley2:
Hmmm, haven't heard of blending it in with a paraffin blend yet. You may want to post a separate thread in the general discussion board and ask there.

I used to buy beeswax candles, and have never seen a beeswax container candle. I'm sure there is a reason for this. That wax is HOT!! I've had votive holders break from the heat of beeswax votives. :tiptoe:
If I were you, I'd either make beeswax pillars, or just blend a little bit in with soy wax. If you do this, don't use more than about 5% or you may get cracks on the top of your wax.

Yeah, by the time I thought about it, it was too late. They are non-cored btw.

I am still testing and trying out different types of wicks for my candles, and would like a good idea of what other people have tried and found success with. This is for containers only.
-
Yikes! I'm glad your wax didn't catch fire at those temps!!
-
I don't use them, because of the risk of making the soap rancid or funny smelling after awhile (I don't use any preservatives in my soap).
-
Soy is a lot easier to clean up than paraffin...

I poured two test candles with 449 last night. 9oz bean pot jars with HTP 126 wicks and 6% FO in one (JS Extra Spicey Spice Cookie) and 3.6% FO in the other (Sweetcakes Christmas Thyme). No dye. Both heated to 170*, add FO, pour @ 160*. Results:
JS jar: Very good cold throw, slight pitting at top, some frosting, no wet spots.
SC jar: Also good cold throw, no pitting or cracking, quite a bit of frosting, no wet spots.
Hot throw TBD. Next time I will pour at 155* to see if it makes a difference with the frosting.

Sweetcakes Special Edition Vanilla sells out for me every time. Have only used it in soap so far - haven't tried it in candles yet.

If they DID deliver your package to the wrong house, good luck getting them to help you. This happened to me once and every time we called they just kept saying, "Well the records indicate it was left on your front porch." HELLO? IS ANYONE LISTENING TO ME? IT'S NOT HERE!!! Finally we had to track it down ourselves, the driver left it at 3252 (our house number is 3352) and the lady at that house didn't even have the courtesy to drop it off at our house when we lived right down the road. She said "It's not my problem."

That looks cool!
Looks like one of the stepping stone molds from Milky Way.
It is one of Milky Way's. They have some very nice stepping stone molds!! I'll post pics of one of my hempseed batches cut once I get back home - out of town right now.
Thanks everyone!

What about FO names with a "TM" next to them...like Malabar Peppercorn from the Scent Works? Do these need to be renamed?
