Oh - you Southern Belles have it so lucky getting a deal like that. Here in North Carolina Dick's Sporting Goods has them online for $79.95 with free shipping.
Wonder how much the shipping is to get one from Academy and have it shipped? According to one site the weight is 21 pounds.
dicks is a small one, only 10 qt. its the new design to reduce the oil needed.
sports academy is a big one, the original 28 qt.
sports academy does not have an online cart, you have to pick up at the store.

I am currently fighting with the square jar from Wally world. I have double wicked both size jars, but can't get a good burn even after I wicked up. After doing search after search, I realize these are hard jars to master.
My question is:
When placing multiple wicks, what is the rule of thumb for spacing? Whether it be double or triple. I have been checking out websites of candle makers, looking at their multiple wick candles and everyone seems to place them differently. Some are about an inch apart in the middle, and some are about 1 1/2" from the outside of the container. I just want to be sure I am spacing mine properly. Any advice would be appreciated.
what ever works for you, one container might need 1" space and another might need less. thats why you see other candles with wick spaces that differ. keep testing spacing the wicks differently until you get the burn you like. some containers are not wickable at all and you dont know until you test, test, test.

Wow...I think it would take a lot of essential oils to scent a hot tub!
na, you dont need much. its not suppose to be as strong as a tart or candle. just a little scent for relaxation. the warm water and steam help the scent throw.

Its freezing out there tonight BRRRRRRRR
LOL
its freezing here too. i made 2 batches of soap last night.
i measure my lye and water in the house. i dont take my scales outside, haha. i always mix outside, i feel more comfortable.
-
yes you can and its very enjoyable. my hot tub came with a scent pack. pumps tolerate the water chemicals, so it can handle essential oils too.
-
i suggest mixing the lye outside of your home.

I have tried 12 oz. Tureen jars with a single wick 34z in 4630 and the throw is poor. I have noticed most sites selling candles with the Tureen jars double wick. Why is this jar different? I have tried a double wick today and there is a significant difference.
It looks like the single flame cannot provide enough heat to make the pool hot enough. Why? :embarasse
Thx
basically you answered your own question. to learn about wicks, go to the source, website of a wick maker. http://www.braidway.com/ there is alot to read there. they have tech support too.
it would be nice if one wick type and size worked perfectly with every container. i dont wonder why a wick does not work, i keep trying different wicks until it burns the way i like.

Can someone give me the site info. for Almost Heaven. Can't seem to find them.
their shipping is a joke. you may or may not ever receive your order.

my elec warmer does not get that hot, or i would not use it.
-
the recipe from the old ct board has too much fo. thats more than what i use in wax. it might stain your sheets and take too long to dry, not to mention the scent will be over powering.
-
3" - 4" works best for me. anything past 4" has problems, the tealight cannot keep the wax melted completely, which weakens the throw.
i will not sell tealight warmers below 3".

the jar is a waste of time for me, its too short. the candle would be gone in no time.
