    Remember I am a newbie:) I thought some instructions about the amount of FO and dye to start with would come with the wax. It didnt. I realize the more dye the darker the color. So do I start by melting the wax and adding different amounts to each container? With the FO, do I start out with adding 1 oz per pound? Or with the FO should I make a candle with 1/2 oz, 1oz and so on to see which I want? OK stop laughing and help me out!

    Thanks soooo much for this info.......a friend of mine that makes candles told me to triple the FO that I put in my candles because thats what she did! She has great smelling candles but they are not that STRONG! I think she was sitting me up for failure. I am so glad I have been reading every word on here! Right now I am waiting for UPS to bring my candle making stuff:D

    Hi, I am soooo confused but excited to get going with making candles. What I want to make are bears dipped in wax, container candles and cup cake type candles for Christmas presents. I have nothing! I plan on using double boiler method with pans I can get at the Dollar Store. Also I plan on getting the rest of the stuff for melting at The Dollar Store or Wal Mart. Now what I really need help with is which wax and wick to start with for the items I want to make. Any suggestions would be great! I plan to order from buywax.com.
