  1. I have thought about this question a lot.Has anyone checked msds sheets and found a similarity for fragrances that work in a particular wax? When I first started making candles I was told by a fragrance manufacturer that I could send them my wax and that they could formulate a fragrance for the wax that I was using. I have also wondered if this is true why candle supply companies don't do this in the wax that they sell! This I feel would bring in a lot if business if you knew that every fragrance that they sold would have a decent scent throw. Sure would save a lot of money testing new suppliers.

just wondering what % you are using in your soy that you didn't get a good hot throw from js oils? if you don't mind me asking. :wink2: Stacy

I was using 8 % in ez soy. The other gragrances that I had a very weak scent throw was cinn. roll with van. cream frosting, van. buttercream was ok in a small room. Js told me that these all had excellent scent throws. The biggest problem that I had with just scent was that I wanted to try a soy/para blend so I tried there blend. I made a pine forest candle and the whole jar started on fire. 4 inch diameter flame. Js told me that it probably was my cd wicks burning hot. I have probably made about 15000 candles before including parafin and soy and never had a problem like this.
  3. i tried a candle a couple weeks ago trying just scents 50/50 blend and the flashpoint was 120 and the whole candle started on fire. js explained to me that my wicks were burning to hot and when they did there testing they never tested cd wicks. this is the 1st time this has happened to me and i have probably have made about 20000 candles before.
