I am flying into Seattle tomorrow for the weekend to celebrate my granddaughter's 8th birthday. 

The only thing I will be pouring is a cocktail or two (after birthday party party!).

I prefer dynamite. But that's just me.

I put it in a thick plastic bag, and with a hammer, bang the crap out of it.

I use paraffin and I cover the candles with a box so they cool as slowly as possible....this helps prevent the tops from shrinking very much if at all.

I will use a heat gun to even out the tops, if needed.

Since you mentioned using Avery Design and Print, why don't you download Avery Design Pro 5.  It's free and you may find it is easier to work with than Avery Design and Print.

What program are you using to design them?

You may want to check out Save on Scents website.

They have, IMO,  a really good deal and good reviews on their results.

I would suggest the candle tins with the feet, if you will, on the bottom.

Thanks for your positive comment bugtussle. I went with ordering from Fillmore Container. I had ordered the 50pk from them before and the clamshells were fine. A case of 700 was $112 and shipping to me wasn't too bad. I may give Panic a go next time around.

I love the mushroom design with the red border!! Maybe use a red font for the scent? It would stand out more IMO.
