Hey Y'all,
Greetings from Texas.
I'm a newbie and so far, I have only used Crafter's Choice SP and Comfort Blend. I like the ease of use of the Crafter's Choice but the Comfort Blend seems to have a better scent throw (both hot and cold) and absolutely NO wet spots! Since a better scent and appearance is worth the extra mess for me, I have ruled out the Crafter's Choice.
I am looking for first hand comparisons (pros & cons) of J223, J50, IGI 4627 (Comfort Blend) and IGI 6006.
All these waxes seem to have comparable reviews but I think I would tend to try the J223. My main concern is that it only has a maximum fragrance load rating of 8% whereas, CB is rated up to 10%. I like my candles to be as fragrant as possible. So, basically, I'm wondering if I should stick with the CB or if there is another wax that will give me similar, if not better results without the mess.
I will be visiting family in Houston for Thanksgiving and plan to pick up the wax from BCS while I'm there to save on shipping.
Thank you for your patience.

This is the scale that I have:

This seller offers them (and many others) on ebay for much less than on their web site. I got mine for $40 and that included shipping and insurance. Ultraship scales are some of the most accurate you can get, plus they can be re-calibrated.

Hi Everyone,
I'm completely new to the candlemaking world. I have yet to receive my first order of supplies and ingredients (scheduled to be delivered 10/25). Until then, I'm trying to learn everything I can about the process. I know that probably 99% of what I will learn about this hobby will be from experience but I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good candlemaking book? I am mostly interested in container candles and would also like to learn about grubby (or cake) candles.
Thank you for any help.
