I did two tests. One with straight pb and no FO and another one with the FO. Without the FO the candle looks good but not 100 % perfect. One or two roses break a little here and there. But by adding the FO, the wax turned too brittle and the candle didn't look good. So I added half soy container wax. But the container wax didn't make much of a difference. Now I am thinking of trying paraffin wax.
Does any one use such a mold? I love how the candle looks here but don't know what wax will work best for a delicate design like this. http://www.ebay.com/itm/New3D-Silicone-Soap-Molds-Moulds-rose-ball-3-cav-1-2oz-/300563408464?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item45faf9a650
One of the experienced chandlers on the board advised me to warm the FO to 100-110F so that the temperature of the wax doesn't drop down quickly after adding the FO.
Hi all PB users. My question is at what temperature do you add the FO and then what will be your pouring temperature? I am working on getting a good hot throw or just hot throw but unsuccessful.
I had a very bad experience with them. Called them a couple of months back and asked them whether they will be open on a certain day or not. The lady on the other side, at her rudest best said 'NO' and banged the phone. I never called again.
So I tested my floating candle again and this time I covered the bottom part of the wick with mold sealer and this time it burnt for a whopping 7 1/2 hours
Ya, the CS website also suggests LX wicks. So I'll try that too. When you make chunks with PB, can you cut them in even pieces or they just break unevenly?
My another problem is whenever I burn the candle, one side melts completely and the wax leaks from that side. There is no melt pool created and so the candle burns very quickly with lot of wax wasted. What must be going wrong?
Surprisingly, the wick that I got from Hobby Lobby months back, works much better. By the way, the candles that I made were chunk. Does that make any difference?
Hi all, I have Ecosoya PB wax and 2.5" square mold. I used 24 ply flat braid wick but didn't like it much. It takes a lot of time to get a complete melt pool and the flame is also not great. I also had put insufficient fragrance oil in the candle. Which wick works the best according to you guys? Thanks Amy
Hi all, I just joined the forum and this is my first post. Love this page so much that I open it twice or thrice a day and collect as much information as possible. Thanks to all you wonderful people to share your knowledge. I need help with the problem I am facing. I used ecosoya pb wax and cotton core wick from peak to make a floating candle. It extinguishes after an hour or so as water gets into the candle . What must be going wrong? Thanks!!! Amy.
