  1. If I am not wrong the other name of Stabilo KST is the CDN series.
  2. I did two tests. One with straight pb and no FO and another one with the FO. Without the FO the candle looks good but not 100 % perfect. One or two roses break a little here and there. But by adding the FO, the wax turned too brittle and the candle didn't look good. So I added half soy container wax. But the container wax didn't make much of a difference. Now I am thinking of trying paraffin wax.
  3. Well I got the mold and tried making the candle with ecosoya pb. The results were disappointing as the wax is too brittle.
  4. Thanks a lot Old Crab. I was thinking of decoration.
  5. Does any one use such a mold? I love how the candle looks here but don't know what wax will work best for a delicate design like this. http://www.ebay.com/itm/New3D-Silicone-Soap-Molds-Moulds-rose-ball-3-cav-1-2oz-/300563408464?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item45faf9a650
  6. One of the experienced chandlers on the board advised me to warm the FO to 100-110F so that the temperature of the wax doesn't drop down quickly after adding the FO.
  7. Just a basic idea given here - http://www.candlewic.com/candle-making-newsletter/302.asp
  8. Thanks folks. I always thought that one shouldn't go beyond the FP of the FO.
  9. Thanks a lot rjdaines. But I have a doubt. I used Peak's FOs. According to Peak I should add the fo at 165. Should I still do it at 185?
  10. Hi all PB users. My question is at what temperature do you add the FO and then what will be your pouring temperature? I am working on getting a good hot throw or just hot throw but unsuccessful.
  11. Has any one tried Peak's tropical fruit? How's the throw in soy?
  12. I had a very bad experience with them. Called them a couple of months back and asked them whether they will be open on a certain day or not. The lady on the other side, at her rudest best said 'NO' and banged the phone. I never called again.
  13. Nope, its not noticeable because when the candle is floating you cannot see the bottom. So just a thin layer of mold sealer worked.
  14. So I tested my floating candle again and this time I covered the bottom part of the wick with mold sealer and this time it burnt for a whopping 7 1/2 hours
