  1. Last night I was watching Soap Queen video tutorial about rolling the soap then using it in a mould and I thought I would give it a shot.

So I poured some white goats milk soap then waited, then poured light pink on top. Waited about 7 minutes and removed it from the cooking paper in the pan.

The started to roll to soap to create swirls then cut them into 2cm wide lots. Once I had swirls I placed them into my plastic mould and since then added more white goats milk soap.

Scented with Musk Sticks FO. Smells so amazing.
Will know more tomorrow when I put them out but here is a photo pre pouring.

  2. Thanks, I love the Amazon Lily & Rain too. Plus I made an extra one for myself and it's so nice.

I have to work on my display as it's getting a little messy.I was thinking of small wooden steps to put on the table, then I can have the soaps sitting on each level.
I'm going to have to do some research.. Any suggestions and im all ears. :)

  3. Current candle customers are now asking me for custom soaps. This is just amazing to me. Not that long ago I made my first melt and pour and now I am taking orders.
Finished off some Strawberry and Love Spell soaps today. Im starting to really love soap making.

  4. It's amazing what you can learn on youtube :)
    I was a programmer/web design/graphic designer for 10 years before starting candles.

My labels are round 4.5cm - printed by inkjet printer on sticky paper, then stuck to a sheet of colour cardboard then cut out with Scissors by hand.

I am going to need more ribbon colours. :D

  5. I wrapped them all up today and they go on sale tomorrow morning.

    I have 4 Champagne & Strawberries but I just made anther 10 - ready for tomorrow, 3 x Lime, Basil & Mandarin, 4 x  Lemon Myrtle and 20 x Chanel No5 Type.

If they sell well then I will be sure to make more of the,.

    Here are some photos.

  6. I ended up wrapping up one of the heart soaps in the shop just to see how it would look and it sold as a lady walked in. Thankfully I got a photo before that.
I've made another 50 hearts yesterday and hopefully with a little luck I can get them all done in the next few days.

  7. Here is another one I did yesterday and just got them out of the mould. There is just 3 of these soap bars as it was a test.

It's Lime, Basil & Mandarin in Goats Milk M&P with clear soap in yellow and green swirls.

As I was un-moulding them, I got an order for 20 of them from a lady walking around my shop. yay!

BTW - I put the heart soaps from the first post into a small container and today they are not "wet" any more. I will check them tomorrow.

    Some photos.

  8. I tried it last night, it was great.

I think the supplier of the m&p soap said wait 24-48 hours after pouring to selling just to let it set and wrap it in plastic wrap to hot let it sweat.
I think my bars need to be bigger though. 80 grams is nice size but might be a bit small. Most bars of soap at 90-100 grams.

  9. Hi everyone,

I've been a candle maker now for 3 years and work only with Soy wax making melts, votives and jar candles.
I have a small retail shop (50m2) in my town and I needed to expand my selling options so now im trying my luck at soap.

I have been watching youtube videos and ready blogs on melt and pour soap as I simply don't have months to wait for the soap to crue.

I purchased 5kg of goat milk soap and some colours and scent and I started working on my soap yesterday.

Here is a few photos of my Champagne & Strawberries soap with Clear soap red hearts.

I hope I have done ok, I will be giving these a try in the next few days. :)

  10. Hi Everyone,

I have been making candles for a few years now and finally got a retail shop where I make my candles and sell them. At the moment i'm just using a plastic fold up table but I am seeing areas that are not flat anymore from the candle weight and hence need a new work bench fast. Something a little more solid and taller as im 6f4".

I have found this (link below) and just wondering what other candle/soap people use. Would this be suitable do you think?

    Thanks.

  11. My first preference for my candle business name was Guardian Candles but I found some company already registered it. When I contacted them about buying the business name they only wanted to make a license deal with me. So I moved on and found a better name.

    Sentinel Candles

"A person who protects or defends something." In this case the candle light.

Im very happy with my choice and wouldn't think about changing it - ever! :)

  12. The melts don't last long before they get sold, the entire trays get sold every 1-2 weeks so their is always new ones being made.

However I still have some melts in my kitchen that have been there for 8 months and they still smell amazing.

Regarding the earrings, I can ship them to you. Your in the United States?

  13. I had a client today walk into my shop and she wanted a mix of fragrances.

    Here is the list.

    Lavender

    Juniper Breeze

    Patchouli

    Sandalwood (with Jasmine version)

I explained I could not be responsible for the end result and she was willing to take the chance.

I had these scents in 20 gram melts, so I put them into my pot and melted them down.

DAMN! It smells so good. Loving this fragrance.

Just thought I would share. :)
