Not too pretty I am afraid, but then you already knew that and know not to burn it either.
Why wouldn't I burn it? The problem with it is looks, not recipe... ?

Here's a side by side. Better, but still not very good. I think I'll try another wax!

That's a great idea! I already started burning it, but I'm sure I can pull the wick out (I use wick pins) and give that a try... might do that this weekend. Thanks!!!

Yup, gas prices affect everything, darn it!

If you get it from the butcher, it'll probably need to be cleaned and rendered. Not sure what all that involves, but I hear it's not fun!
I'm in the south, so I get mine at the wal mart in buckets!

Hi there! I have a question that I'm sure is stupid. I love using oxides, ultramarines, and micas to color. I've read that you mix oxides with oil and ultramarines with water. What do you mix micas with? Either?
:tiptoe:
thanks for any ideas!

LOL Louise!
Texas Brat, neither of the batches went into the fridge, I had the white one on a wire rack and was hoping it wouldn't gel through the tops, and it didn't! Most of the rest of it did though. Learning experience.. next time might use a fan, see what it will do.
Thanks everyone!!! Yes, it's a blast!

zinc vs paper vs cotton

Hey all, wick question here. I have some 60-44-18z, 60-44-18p, and 60-44-18c. Is there much of a difference between them? I'm sure there's gotta be, otherwise why would they make them?
I hear zinc is the coolest burning, which makes me think the paper and cotton would burn hotter. Am I right? Any thoughts?
