I measured out 120 g of Shea (I used unrefined this time), 100 g Macadamia Nut oil, 120g Apricot Kernel Oil, 20 g Wheatgerm Oil, 36 g e-wax, 36 g stearic acid and 24 g cocoa butter into a metal bowl.
I then placed the bowl on the stove, double boiler style to get things melted.

Alrighty folks, just about that time! Hopefully we've got some scrubbers ( ) online and ready to go. If you join in late, that's fine, time is relative.
If you haven't measured out your ingredients, please do that now and get those butters/oil/e-wax and stearic melting!
Just a reminder to make sure you have a CLEAN workspace and have washed your hands so no nasty germies come hang out in your scrub!

I use the regular cocoa butter and don't smell it in the finished product.
If you've got enough coffee butter to spare, try for half coffee and half shea. Also, you can add some ground coffee to the scrub later on if you want some more scrubbies and some more coffee scent.

Hello, everyone! I'll be hanging out here until class starts, in case anyone has some last minute questions!

I can't wait to see it!
Going to add another OMG scent you all should consider -- Egyptian Dragon ... very smoothe, good and, well, sexy. Soaped it with slight acceleration in cool temps with a very slight water discount.
I've been eyeing that one, and with your description I think I'm pushed over the edge to buy it!

I like Cool Citrus Basil (Peak's) for men and women.
-
That looks gorgeous and sounds like an FO that I'd just love!
-
I thought Welcome Home, as well.
-
Did you warm up your LS before adding the FO? And did you add it straight to the LS or mix it with something else? (like glycerin, etc...)
I have some LS sitting, waiting out my 2 weeks, but in my reading it was suggested that the LS be heated up before adding the FO.

Ahhhhh! wow and wow! I have to have one of those!!!!! I just read the description and started to drool.

The layouts are FAB! I like the perspectives that you have.
Now... if you can get them a little brighter.... they will be PERFECT!

Same question was asked awhile ago (I know because I asked it - LOL!).
Here's the thread... http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68134&highlight=cocoa+powder
I re-found it doing a simple search for "cocoa powder" within the Bath, Body and Cosmetics Forum.
ETA: It worked quite well for me. I used a pretty small amount, though, and let it heat and incorporate. So far so good.

You don't *need* boron or silica powder.
Look through kimberly's whipped shea recipe (yes, the whole entire thread in the recipe section) and you'll see what various add-ins people use in their whipped shea.

They do have a limit on how much lye they will ship, tho. I just pick up from them because they are local. Even tho I don't make soap.... yet - LOL!

Lynn -- what kind of label program do you have or plan to use? Someone could potentially create a template for you but you'd have to use compatible programs.
Also, sometimes the way a printer grabs and feeds the paper makes a big difference.
And did I mention that 2.5" labels are the creation of the devil?!? Those were such a PITA to format correctly that I went to 2.25" instead.

I use accessline.com for my number.

Also sounds like when the candles were made the clay pots weren't sealed.... can't the wax seep through the porous clay? And then light the pot up, too?
But yeah, don't respond. Not your candle. Not your worry. She'll just hit up someone else if you don't respond.

You know, as a business, I would err on the side of seeing a little more spam in my inbox (loosen the spam filters a little) than risk not responding to customer communication because of it.
Or check the spam folder every day.
Sheesh.
Just for the record I order from BCN sometimes and have never had a problem, I was just addressing e-mail spam in general.

Catchy names can help that.
Like.... Chocolate Marathon
Shot Put Scrub
Long Jump Chocolate Lip Balm
Hellenic Bath Salts
There may be more stuck in my brain but I'm eating dinner, too, so am distracted.

I just did a Chocolate Festival and had two kinds of chocolately candles (Gourmet Dark Chocolate and Raspberry Truffle). I also did chocolate and raspberry bath salts, a bubbling cocoa milk bath, hint of chocolate cocoa butter lotion, chocolate syrup shower gel and a chocolate scrub. I would have done chocolate scented massage oil if I had the time. I also made up some Chocolate flavored lip balm and Mocha (chocolate and coffee) flavored lip balm.
One piece of advice -- put together some sets! I noticed that when the sales started flagging a little I put together a small set and a larger set and SOLD OUT of some items as a result. People really liked being able to get something all chocolate themed without having to figure it out themselves.
Hope some of those ideas help and spark something!

Thanks for the replies! It helps to know that other people have had positive experiences with their FO's -- I just don't hear about many using them so I was a little unsure.

Either go fruity or really, really sexy.
The only foodie smells I'd consider in a scrub are chocolate and/or coffee.
-
....I'm taking over the lving room and dinging room too
And just what goes on in a dinging room? ROFL!
Congrats on the festivals! Sounds like you are going to be one busy chandler.

Help, please! I posted in the business section a couple of weeks ago about supplying candles for a local company to go in hotels, spas, etc.... Well I went on Thursday to pick up some jars and a fragrance to test. Got a few poured and they're coming with me on my trip to test.
Anyways -- I just found out today that they are getting their fragrances from the Jar Store (or at least that's one of their FO suppliers). Now the guy I'm working with did say to give feedback on the FO because he's not 100% sure that the fragrances are performing well in wax.
Has anyone here used Jar Store FO's and what has your experience been with them? I will give him feedback based on how the sample he gave me performs, but I'm thinking if the FO's aren't great quality to begin with then I'm not going to be able to consistently create a good product for them.
