Inspirational notebook -

What's in yours and do you carry yours with you?

I have learned to carry mine with me everywhere I go. I used to only have it with me when I was at my computer but have learned that you never know when inspiration will hit and sometimes having the notebook is easier to carry around than writing on your arms, or sticky notes or just "trying to remember" and then transferring.

For instance, just today I have already filled in 2 pages of ideas I want to work around.

Sometimes it's just names of scents, or scent blends, other times it's a full out plan of making something from start to finish including recipe, additives, type of swirls all planned out to end result.

What's in your inspirational notebook?

I carry my notebook everywhere. I have an hour drive to and from work every day and it sets in the front passenger seat. There are times I need to remember to order something and if I do not write it down immediately, I forget. I make lists of things I want to buy in the future and people to get back with regarding orders.  I also write new scent blends down I want to try and when I go shopping and looking, I shove a piece of notebook paper in my pocket to write things down on. If I see something really cute in a gift shop, I will look on it and find the supplier name on it (usually check out the website to see if I can meet their minimums etc and make sure I want to buy from)  and then I write the info on my paper.....(but do this when the owner/manager is not looking...eek...they waltz up closer to see what you are up to if they see you). It is more like a make a list notebook because I can't remember anything anymore. But, I love it because I don't forget to order/get everything I need. :)

I have never even heard of an inspirational notebook, but I really like the idea. I am happiest when I am creating and/or trying something new, so I would get a lot out of it. Thanks for the idea!

I've had mine for about 2 years now and let me tell you, it has been a God send. I love it. It's where I write all of the scent blends I want to try. Some have been really good. Others, not so much. LOL but at least it's there and I can notate if it's a keeper or not. Usually about once a week I will transfer everything to my spreadsheet with columns to keep everything organized, but the notebook itself? Always with me in one capacity or another.

Also if I happen to be in a business meeting or a business lunch and I think of something I use the notepad app on my phone and pretend to be taking notes about the meeting. LOL

:laugh2: Love those great bosses!

I've actually only ever had one boss that didn't like me. We still both work in the same company, but I high-tailed it out of that department so fast her head spun. LOL j/k she was as glad to see me go as I was to leave, and she actually helped facilitate the move.

What a great idea!!! Sometimes I think for weeks or months about a certain soap I want to make but I never write my ideas down. I just become obsessed with that one soap, it's all I think about. At 2am, I'm thinking about that damn soap!!!!

Yep, I used to do the same thing. Once I got the notebook, I still obsess but writing it down really does help. Then I know I don't have to think about it as much to remember the idea so I still think about it, but it's not an obsession. :)

I guess I never thought of mine as an inspirational notebook but it sounds like what you have :)  I put future ideas for scents, colors; recipes I want to try and what items I need to restock on.  When I first started the notebook I also wrote down my recipes and notes but my handwriting is so sloppy I had a hard time reading it...LOL.  So I started doing the recipes and notes on the computer.   Good idea to have it with you to jot stuff down as you think of it or as people give you ideas.  I'll have to try and remember to do that.
