celicagtca
I made CP soap with only titanium dioxide to whiten it. A coconut type fragrance, but I put M&P embeds with a FD&C food coloring. Could this be why the brown embeds are turning a green color??See Pic
JanetsCandles
My first thought is basically that the brown is formulated with a red and green color mix in the first place. I've been having nothing but trouble trying to get reds in CP soap to stay red. I think (someone correct me if I'm wrong, please, I'm still a newb) the FD&C colorants aren't stable when it's in the CP soap because of the pH level involved. I think what happened is that it leached the red out when your soap was setting up, but the green stayed stable enough to peak through on the edges. As a thought, that could be a very interesting effect if you did a coconut/lime combination though.
celicagtca
So next time, stay away from FD&C in M&P when embedding into CP soap. Unfortunately, no LIME in this oil, but great idea! Thank You! Edited February 19, 2012 by celicagtca
