Sharon44
Does anyone use this wax? It's a votive pillar blend with a melt point of 140 or so. I can get this locally, so it's tempting. Any feedback would be appreciated.
rjdaines
I use that wax for pillars, I find it a little too hard for votives but that doesn't mean that I don't make them from left of wax. For votives I use 4794. IGI 4625 makes great pillars and no additional additives are needed and it can hold at least double the amount of FO that straight paraffin (I use 6%).Wicking-wise I use LX wicks. Any feedback would be appreciated.I just finished a slab of this to try it out. I didn't do pillars. I did votives and tarts. Made a couple batches of votives without anything added......they had a great throw with really easy wicking on any scent I threw at it.Then I tried it mixed with 25% container paraffin to try to soften them up a bit. That is caused me wicking issues on several scents. I wouldn't hesitate to use it again in a pinch through a close by supplier.... just not sure I'd mix it again.
