Yvelis
I'm searching for strong scents to use in my soy and I have been purchasing samples of what others find to have a strong HT, but some of my samplers are really weak OOB. Is there any connection between strong scent OOB and strong HT?I have pured candles but are waiting for them to cure.
KarenOH
I never judge a scent out of the bottle. Ones I have thought would kick butt, didn't. Those that I thought were weak, filled my house. So the answer to your question is ...no! :-)Karen
Stella1952
Is there any connection between strong scent OOB and strong HT?Not necessarily. If a FO is strong OOB, then often it's strong in the candle, although not always. If a scent is faint OOB, sometimes it'll really surprise you in the candle, especially with a good week's cure. Only way to really tell what a FO is going to do is put it in some wax.
SliverOfWax
No connection. A scent can make your eyes water when you sniff it out of the bottle and be absolutely nothing in wax. To make it even more confusing, a scent might blow the doors off in your wax and perform like an unscented candle in another wax. You also have the fragrance load, wick, cure time, and a host of other things to consider.Out of bottle reviews can be interesting (and to some people, fun), but from an end product standpoint, they are completely worthless.
