Cecilia
I am developing a soy wax candle in a tin and would like to know which is your advice to make a secure packaging for the candles to avoid problems during shipping, specially melting. Thanks in advance.Cecilia.
B@BlissStreet
Cecilia,Hi, and welcome! I try to ship on Monday or Tuesday if it is warm, or if the destination of the package is a hot climate, that way the product doesn't get stuck in a hot truck over the weekend. Cecilia
Thanks for the recommendation. Another question about the boxes where the candles are put to be shipped. Are they made of a special material or only cardboard? Thanks! Cecilia.
B@BlissStreet
Just your basic cardboard box works fine. If you are shipping via USPS, you can have boxes delivered to you for free; just visit their site. Also, as you purchase supplies, you can save the boxes they arrive in and reuse them. Just make sure to put plenty of bubblewrap or whatever fill you are using so that the items are packed in tight. There is also an insurance option when you ship, and it is usually only a couple dollars extra for peace of mind. HTH!
Stella1952
Use common sense approaches. Try using a soy wax that has a higher melting point. There's a wide range in the products from which we can choose. Ship Priority mail with lots of bubble wrap. Delay shipping during times of extreme heat along the shipping route. Test by shipping to friends & relatives in different states to see what happens to your products. Edited June 6, 2011 by Stella1952
