lsbennis
Does anyone know where I can get some inexpensive silicone molds? I love Vanyulay's molds but quite frankly I can only afford a few of them. I'm basically looking for Petit Four and chocolate candy type molds. I'm going to search the internet see what I come up with but if anyone knows off the top of their head would appreciate a point in the right direction. Thanks :smiley2:

LuminousBoutique
have you ever made your own? Its super easy, I swear. And cheaper.. you can buy the silicone from Smooth-On, there are great tutorial videos on there. I use the Oomoo silicone http://www.smooth-on.com/Silicone-Rubber-an/c2_1113_1136/index.htmlits $25 for a test kit, which is actually ALOT of rubber. I havent ever bought the big buckets because I never need that much at once... its great stuff though.

LuminousBoutique
Yeah its a bit of a learning curve but once you get it down you can save SOOOO much money in the long run and you can make a silicone mold of anything!! I found a bunch of old brass paperweights that I know would make amazing soap molds.. I really cant resist the urge to make molds out of them when I have some spare money to buy the silicone, i finally ran out of my last bottle. Someday I want to make candle molds from them, but like you said sometimes there arent enough hours in the day!! lol
ProudMarineMom
Couple of weeks ago I was looking for molds. Been wanting to make my bath melts in a candy/bon-bon shape. Saved several sites in a favorites folder. Maybe these will help you out.Candy Mold Centralhttps://www.candymoldcentral.com/scripts/default.aspKitchen Kraftshttp://www.kitchenkrafts.com/default.aspJB Princehttp://www.jbprince.com/professional-culinary-molds/molds.aspJB Prince is probably more expensive than what you are looking for. Although some of their candy molds aren't too bad for what you get. I haven't bought any molds from them but am familiar with them from the food industry side of things. My husband used to work at Disney and they bought quite a bit from them for the kitchens. He also bought my mandoline slicer from them, which I love. They have excellent quality merchandise.Anyway, hth.J
