mommyof4
I'm trying to find a wax for tarts that have a great H&C throw that will not smear my clear boxes that I put them in. KY tart wax is horrible about smearing. I've tried 4794 mixed with 6006 and still smeared. I'm not too fond of 4794 alone. I like the creamy look. Maybe I mixed too much 6006? In the meantime I will play around a little more on the %'s. But would love to know if there is another wax that would be better.THANKS! Ravens
What about 4794 and 464 or C-3?
mommyof4
Thanks Ravens What % should I try first? I've never used those two waxes before.THANKS AGAIN!
Ravens
I use 13oz of the 4794 and 3oz of the 415; what % would that be? Have no idea, too lazy to figure that out, lolHTH
jennyjo
The PB also works well with a parasoy container wax blended with it...helps keep them from getting brittle and cracking all over. Keeps it smooth and creamy but still pops out fine. Boosts scent throw and no frosting.

mommyof4
Thanks jennyjo! We were typing at the same time and didn't see your post. I will try that too
Ravens
Jennyjo, don't know, but I must be doing something wrong with the PB wax. It perferms as an absolute DUD for me, no scent throw whatsoever... and it's supposed to throw well. I have lots of it left, just sitting there. Tried to give it another go some weeks ago. Tried tarts I had made with it months and months ago, and still come up with nothing - no throw.Wondering if I got just a "bad" batch Will try and get rid of it slowly, by mixing it with the waxes that consistently perform well for me (TCS, 4633, Joywax, JW6800)PB doesn't like me:angry2:

mommyof4
Thank you cedesousa5 Ravens, with that little amount of soy, you don't get the frosting do you?
IwantItgreen
Thank you cedesousa5 Ravens, with that little amount of soy, you don't get the frosting do you? I'm not Ravens but I use a 50/50 blend of those waxes and I don't get frosting. If you do a 75/25 blend you certainly shouldn't.
Ravens
No, not a bit of frosting.
PAgirl89
I'm new myself to making tarts and by a suggestion by someone here at the board (jaxx) I got the para-soy votive/tart blend from KY Candle Supply. I made my first wax tart clamshell tonight with it and it worked great! Easy melt, pour and set.
