bwc
I called Uline and also Papermart today and asked about their polypro bags and whether, after they are sealed, they will allow the fragrance to leach out of the bag. These are for the cardboard car air fresheners. Both of them told me that there is no guarantee that the fragrance won't leach out. Does anyone have an ideas? I would love to make these, but I also have severe allergies, and I can't have all the scents leaching out and mingling together. Thanks! coconut
Polypro bags are pretty good, but if you cannot tolerate any leaching, put the sealed bags into an airtight container. I keep a sack of tarts, inside polypro bags, inside my overhead at work and when you lift the lid, you sure can smell them. The Lock and Lock containers are very good but anything advertised as airtight should work.
bwc
So I should probably just buy the polypro bags and then after I get them all packaged, place them in an airtight container. I'm thinking about putting them in a consignment store where my daughter is interning for her business class. Thanks for the info!
coconut
I have searched a lot online, and have not found anything better than the polypro although I am also testing genuine old-fashioned cellophane. From what I find, these two things are the best packaging available. Bear in mind that the scent leakage is very slow and I find that even after a year in the package, the tart is still good. It is just that when I put 60 of them together and store in one spot for a long time, there is a little leakage and it builds up. At home, I store mine in air-tight containers without the bags and package as needed. I keep the samples at work for "sniffies". HTH. coconut
As long as it is "airtight", yes, I think that would do it. Different plastics will have different results, though, perhaps. Some will absorb the smell of the scent to some degree.
mary0050
:cheesy2:Thank, I'm going to try that with the ones I'm getting ready for a show. I also keep mine stored in a glass container until I need to bag some up. Have a great day!!
