Gbhunter
I use 4144 wax and only use color plus 2 tbs os stearic acid per LBS I do not ad FO. I use a 24 ply flat braid wick and the issue I have is that the candle burns great but then slowly the flame gets large and starts to soot. The wax pool is perfect and the candle melts just like it should no spilling and no tunneling. Any ideas from anyone?
debratant
how long is it burning before the flame gets large and soots? trimming the wick seems to take care of that issue for me if it's been burning forover 4 hours.
Gbhunter
It does take a few hours before the flame starts to get tall. However I read on these forum some people stating that if you have to trim the wick it is an indication that it has been wicked wrong since the wick I use(flat braid 24ply) should be self trimming.
