CellarDweller
Hi all!I have made 1 batch of liquid soap using the Sunflower and Coconut recipe from candleandsoap.about.com. It turned out ok, but was not as bubbly as I would like. I would like to try again and was wondering if there was anything I could sub for the Sunflower (since I'm currently out)? Or maybe you have a different recipe altogether to recommend? If it matters, I am hoping to use as a liquid dish soap for now but would also like to eventually use as a hand washing soap. Would these recipes differ?I feel comfortable with the process and don't really mind if it's clear or amber in color, I'm just struggling with the ingredients to use. Thanks for any help!!p.s. oils and butters I have on hand are... coconutpalmrboakosaocastercanolaolive oilshea butter
Sister Kya
I'm wondering if you're thinking that your liquid "dish soap" is going to bubble up like a standard dish detergent. It won't.I know next to nothing about making liquid soaps but I read Catherine Failor's book from time to time and consider it...I'd see if I couldn't get a copy of her book (even the About.com guy sounds like he took what he learned from her book) and read up on it. CellarDweller
Thanks for the reply. I asked for the book for Mother's Day and my birthday and didn't get it. Guess it's time to buy it myself!!I'm still open to any suggestions here.p.s. I do know that it won't bubble as much, just looking for as much as it can get.
