Soap for severely tanned skin

Hi everybody,

I have been coming on and off to this website for the past 10 years. I have been making candles and soaps by learning from everybody in this forum.

I am tring to make some soaps to my friend who is severely sun burned and tanned. If somebody can guide me to a recipe or suggest a recipe that would be just great.

I read your post and I cannot help but think that your friend does not need a soap but a product that will penetrate and help the skin. Soap is just a cleanser but if they are sunburned, how about a soothing lotion or even straight olive oil?

I would also lean more toward a soothing lotion, maybe an aloe based or shea butter. If she is "severely burned", she should probably be careful as to what she applies to her skin, it may be very tender right now.

As someone that got WAY too much sun over the Labor Day weekend I can highly recommend Essentials by Catalina's body frosting with added butters. I typically peel when I get a burn like the one I had. I was religious about putting the frosting on this time and it worked like a charm. I have a glowing tan and no peeling this time. I used plain glycerin soap for cleaning then layered on the frosting a few times a day.

Thanks everybody for ur reply. The Catalina's body frosting, does it lighten or darken the skin. She is brown toned and doesn't want to further tan her skin.

It just moisturizes, it shouldn't effect her skin tone at all.

Thanks mparadise for ur kind words. Can u also let me know of a moisturiser for brightening/lightening the sensitive skin.
